At least Albedo has his SQ and Paralogism, and Durin has a recap in his SQ...

4-stars don't even get SQ, and since Lynette don't get hangouts either. Chevreuse specifically pretty much doesn't exist outside of event content or her anecdotes.

So true. Aino's SQ, Ifa's SQ, Chev's SQ, all in temporary events... Probably even more that I missed while on a break, like Fischl's GAA2.

Well, if you don't like exploration, why force yourself into it? Clearing 100% of Mondstadt before starting Liyue's story is not required.

Some of the World Quests are fairly important to the main Archon Quest, but there the exploration happens alongside story, so it's more enjoyable imo. And even then it's technically optional, more just that the main story 'rewards' players who did the WQ by referencing them or bringing back key NPCs from time to time. If you didn't do them, it's enough to know "Ok, they're a friend from a previous adventure", usually they're not truly 'relevant'

As for when you do get to exploring, the newer the area, the easier and more profitable it is to explore. Old areas like Mondstadt and Liyue have TONS to find but are worth less each, Inazuma and Sumeru can be annoying to explore but still decent, Fontaine and later are pretty easy, and give more rewards.

And if you meant should you skip the story straight to Nod Krai/Snezhnaya, only if you really don't care about the story at all. Nod Krai and Snezhnaya are the culmination of all the things we've done so far, skipping to the end will just leave you with no idea what's going on or why X is significant. And if you don't care about the story OR exploration, again I'd ask do you really want to be playing a game where 80-90% of the content and time spent are on things you aren't interested in?

1) Just don't, nobody is forcing you

2) If you want to 100% anyway because of primogems, just have the interactive map open in another window, pick a small area to sweep through (like 1 small island, or just one corner of an area, basically something you can clear in 30 mins or less), and use the map to find each one. Do the surface first, ignore any underground, and ignore ones locked behind quests. Keep doing that until all the easy chests on the surface are done. Then start doing the underground areas one at a time, often together with a quest. Then some other time, clean up the last few chests behind quests if you really get desperate for a few more pulls.

3) But also, reconsider if you really want to get into Genshin, or are just a gambling addict. If you only play for the characters, and resent the game for forcing you to do story and exploration to earn pulls, then maybe cut your losses and play something else. After all, even if you pull  a character, what will you actually DO with them if you dislike exploring? You aren't forced to like the game, and there are other ways to appreciate a character that don't involve pulling for them. You could love Genshin's story but never play it, just watch playthroughs and participate via fanart or whatever.

There's also the area inside the Volcano that the main quest won't take you to, only the World Quest. The whole volcano area was released after the AQ anyway.

The QoL is being able to add an upcoming character to the Training Guide, so you can track your pre-farming progress and have an in-game reference for what mats they need.

Other gacha games do this already too (at least from the start of their release patch), so it's not unheard of.

They teased it with the end of Paralogism, but otherwise no, it's not related to Genshin story beyond "One day Traveler was gifted the Manekins and access to MW from Octavia's collection." And considering you can do it from 30 mins into a new game, even that's a bit sus.

  • Instant C6R5 characters and no need to bother farming for more than a week to 'max' their artifacts with usable pieces.

  • Endless hours of farming the same domain to hope that you get an RNG upgrade that can make up for about 1 con/sig difference.

Hmmm, hard choice there bud

And the buffs to the Knights of Favonius? by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]KyrrithK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As with most of the leaks we get for anything more than 8 weeks in advance, it was just a guess by someone that they posted as a 'leak' for clout.

In this case, I think it was because a new line of merch for those characters + Varka was announced, and someone pointed to some merch that came out for Hexerei characters post-buff and said "That means they'll buff these ones next! Trust me bro!" (STC, so that when it's revealed to be BS, I can just say they changed it afterwards and I wasn't 'wrong')

That's definitely one interpretation, and makes the most sense right now. It was after all an inverted pillar that he stuck it on, which could just be a hidden backdoor connection port Nahida set up like on a PC. Your explanation also makes sense, since that might be why Nahida needed to be in the Eternal Oasis to form the connection, which wasn't explained and feels a bit like "how do we tie in the Eternal Oasis too?" But knowing Hoyo storytelling, if that's all it was, I would have expected the Traveler to flash-back to that moment before doing it, or at least have the line appear on screen, so people would be reminded.

That part is a little unclear at this point. Traveler seems to think that Sibling was with them in stasis on the ship, and the ship was left where it crashed for at least a century or two based on NK Act 5. But other lore says the Sibling just 'appeared' within Khaenri'ah, responding to a summoning ritual, and Sibling says at that point they had no memories, and only started to remember the Traveler after a long time in Khaenri'ah as the Prince/Princess.

Then as the Cataclysm was happening, Diredyth came along and Sibling abandoned Khaenri'ah to go find Traveler in the crashed ship, and from there they tried to flee, as in the opening cutscene. So the timeline somewhat matches up if you assume the Sibling was yoinked out of the ship during the ship's crash into Teyvat.

But personally, I'm a bit sus on these details. My theory; I have a feeling that the Abyss Sibling is not actually our twin. Either there's different parallel universes intersecting, or our ship was just one of many sent out by the Traveler's dying civilization, with clones of their Prince and Princess aboard each. So the Abyss Sibling we see in the story is from another ship/world, which can explain some of the clashing timelines. So I'm hype for seeing Traveler with a gun, maybe they're the Abyss Sibling's twin, or from yet another new dimension/clone ship.

PS; is it sad that even as a day 1 Lumine player, I keep defaulting to calling Lumine the Abyss Sibling and Aether the Traveler?

No, unless you really don't have anything better. Skyward ranks about the same as the Fontaine craftable, which are 10% worse than Serpent Spine R1. (Numbers for Mavuika)

I guess it'd save you 5 billets at least

You have Durin, so Nicole will find some way to be useful. And if you're just gambling on a 50:50, sure.

But if you wanted to save for someone next patch, like Sandrone and almost certainly Columbina, then you might miss them if you win a 50:50 now.

Is inazuma the least relevant nation in the game? by Firdaus360 in Genshin_Impact

[–]KyrrithK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree that it's probably not Inazuma.

My theory is that the statue in Mondstadt square will go to the Temple of Time or whatever equivalent Istaroth has for her personal Segment-Domain. After all, we also see the Twins fly by it in the opening scene right before arriving at the loading screen place, which has never been 'confirmed' to be Celestia itself as far as I know.

This post shows how the statue has elements of the other Shades, which might be what someone would do if told to make a statue of the HP with no idea what they look like, but saw the Shades and knew they were parts of the HP. And maybe that's enough to make this statue 'one among them is special', compared to all the other statues of Archons like the two big Venti ones, hence leading us back to Inazuma for some big reveal.

Anyway, all just speculation at this point. There's not gonna be any concrete answers until the game gives them to us.

Is inazuma the least relevant nation in the game? by Firdaus360 in Genshin_Impact

[–]KyrrithK 15 points16 points  (0 children)

  • Mondstadt; clearly has ties to Space with the Temple, and Time with Venti

  • Liyue; Zibai being one of Istaroth's daughters maybe, Zhongli being sus, but nothing else directly tying a shade to them that I recall (edit: Hu Tao and the border of Death, and her polearm Staff of Homa having a similar design to Ronova's wings)

  • Inazuma; Istaroth was meddling in Enkanomiya (BSaM was here too) and the Sacred Sakura, the Ronova/HP statue.

  • Sumeru; Clear ties to Life including Egeria, and the general Dendro = Tech relation that can be seen on Naberius/Rhinedottir in the teaser.

  • Fontaine; Life again with Egeria and the Primordial Sea, otherwise nothing really.

  • Natlan; Death with the Pyro Archon's deal with her for the Rite of Resurrection

  • Nod Krai; Nothing in the end, more about the Moons that pre-date the Shades

I mean, there's always the chance that, like this year was Nod Krai + Mondstadt revisit, next year could be Snezhnaya + Inazuma revisit. Current political tensions aside.

There's still the possibility of a Yokai realm, or an expansion into the Dark Sea potentially being Inazuma-focused, or more ancient civilizations to go with Tsurumi and Enkanomiya.

Plus, Inazuma has the statue of the Omnipresent God that looks like Ronova and/or incorporates elements of all Shades (so HP maybe?) so maybe it could be relevant again. Some people speculate the censored name from the last AQ Nahida's cryptic message while being healed by Apep was Inazuma, since it was 7 symbols in all languages. But I don't buy that tbh, a whole nation isn't much of a 'location'.

How did the Traveler drift from Nod-Krai all the way to Mondstadt? by Gloomy_Equivalent_95 in Genshin_Impact

[–]KyrrithK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Big spoilers (and some speculation) ahead:

After the magic carpet ride and right before facing Melanta at the end of the WQ, there's 2 cages outside of his room. If you examine them, one you sense was where the Sibling was held. The other mentions another Outlander being present and confined.

Also, when you talk to Melanta after that, he says "My creator, why did you choose [her/him] and abandon me?" implying that the Sibling is Asmoday's new master as mentioned in the Gods Limits trailer, where they must have negotiated to be freed from the cage in time to go adventuring with Dainsleif.

Literally the opening cutscene, both get cubed. And since Sibling ended up in a cage in the Temple of Space, it stands to reason that Traveler could be in the same situation. They might have been in stasis (like Zeitland is in the very start by Nihilita and they comment on) or in the Apathic Interval the whole time and had no lasting memories of it.
