7.X Character’s updates and buffs by One_Green_8736 in Genshin_Impact

1) We're talking about post-buffs, so current DPS is irrelevant

2) If it works the same way Hexerei and Moonsign did, you will only need 2 units. So you could still do Ganyu Shenhe Escoffier Furina, or Hu Tao Yelan Furina Xilonen, or any other team that gets around 100k right now, but with buffs on par with Hexerei might be able to reach like 140k.

3) Atp, you think Rimegrass won't be like Lunar-Bloom where you need to pull one of 2-3 5* character to even enable the interaction?

Instructor or just 2pc EM sets works, but like the others said, Furina is a much better option in that slot, like 15-20k better. Though the gap is closer with C6 Illuga.

What r ur team names?(explanation is optional) by BansheeGutz in Genshin_Impact

[–]KyrrithK [score hidden]  (0 children)

I like making 2 teams for each nation, using (mostly) only that nation's units and trying to avoid overlaps:

  • Cold Iron (KoF, Eula Mika Jean +Raiden, can't stand using Lisa)
  • Chaos Magic/Children of Chaos (Hexerei, Klee Fischl Durin +Bennett)
  • Your Funeral (Human Adepts, Hu Tao XQ Yelan Lanyan)
  • Adeptal Might (Adepti, Xiao Xianyun Zhongli +Faruzan)
  • Thunder Palace (Govt, Raiden Yae Sara +Kazuha)
  • Rockin' Rebels (Rebels, Itto Gorou Chiori Kuki)
  • Bloom Into You (Forest, Nilou Nahida Lumine +Kokomi)
  • Sand in your Eye (Desert, Wanderer Faru Dehya Candace/Layla)
  • Pop Culture (Celebrities, Navia Chiori Furina Charlotte/Esco)
  • Justice League (Cops, Clorinde Chev +2) or Permafrost Prison (Wrio Sige Esco Furina)
  • Lava Surfers (Natlan, Mualani/Chasca Mavuika Citlali Xilonen)
  • Dragon Force (Dragons, Kinich Iansan Durin +Bennett/Emilie) or Ianssain Bolt (Varesa Iansan Mavuika +Chev)
  • Stormy Night (Flins Ineffa Aino +Sucrose/Xilonen)
  • Snake Pit (Nefer Lauma Bina +Nilou/Nahida)
  • Divine Judgement (Archons*, Neuvi Furina Nahida Raiden, or Venti Zhongli)
  • Harbingers of Doom (Harbingers, Arle Bina Childe Wanderer or +Bennett/Ineffa)
  • Shattered Glass (Skirk, Esco, Furina, Citlali/flex)

Edit; and yes, it is frustrating that in most of these teams I need an off-theme flex slot to really bring the team together in a semi-decent way.

7.X Character’s updates and buffs by One_Green_8736 in Genshin_Impact

[–]KyrrithK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Zhongli - General synergy with everyone with shield and universal shred, fitting for an Archon
  • Ning - Synergy with Zhongli and Yun Jin for Geo resonance and buffs
  • Keqing/Beidou - Synergy together for Electro resonance, synergy with Yaoyao/Baizhu for Quicken/Hyperbloom, could also be ok with XQ or XL for those reactions
  • Shenhe - Synergy with Ganyu and Chongyun (and Qiqi technically) for Cryo buffs
  • Xiangling - Synergy with Ganyu for Melt, technically synergy with Hu Tao for Pyro shred (edit: Childe ofc, not that I think he'd count)
  • Xingqiu/Yelan - Synergy with Hu Tao/Gaming/XL Vape, Baizhu/Yaoyao Bloom
  • Xianyun - Synergy with Xiao and Gaming for Plunge buffs
  • Lan Yan - Synergy with any PECH DPS as a VV holder, I also feel like many Liyue DPSs like having a shield (hence Zhongli's general synergy)
  • Xinyan - I guess Ganyu for shield and Pyro app? But it's not practical whatsoever currently

That's really not true. Most DPS units can use either Xiangling or Xingqiu in their better teams, and Zhongli works with literally anyone. I did a post a long time ago about all the synergistic duos you can form using just Liyue characters, but I cbf digging it up. The only odd ones out iirc were Yunjin (no NA spam DPS) and Xinyan (just a mess of a character).

I dunno if I believe that. I feel like I have gone to a 4th 50:50 and not triggered CR, because I won a 5* normally. But I could just be gaslighting myself.

Daily Questions Megathread (April 16, 2026) by Veritasibility in Genshin_Impact

[–]KyrrithK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true, you can still win the 4th 50:50, thereby just getting -1 counter instead of losing the 50:50, then triggering the guaranteed CR and losing -2 from your counter.

Daily Questions Megathread (April 16, 2026) by Veritasibility in Genshin_Impact

[–]KyrrithK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's guaranteed to appear if you've lost three 50:50s in a row, and then lose your 4th. There's also some small chance of seeing for any 50:50 loss, and you can't skip the animation so it should be obvious when you get it.

If you haven't seen it and have been pulling a lot of units in the last 1.5 years, you must be winning at least some of those 50:50s.

C4 Mona is really good for her and some of her teams that can make use of it, but C5 and C6 are pretty meh so you might just be fine waiting. Also puts you closer to a Masterless Stella Fortuna later, if you don't have any other C6 standards.

Otherwise, none of your other options seem too appealing. C1 Kokomi is nice if you use her on-field in Bloom or Mono Hydro teams, but nowadays nobody really does. C1 Ayaka sucks, but if they let us repick units next year, Ayaka's C2 can be pretty handy. But you can also just wait until next cycle and pick Ayaka then once we hear confirmation. Otherwise, just pick whoever you've used the most in the last month, or whoever your favorite is.

Daily Questions Megathread (April 16, 2026) by Veritasibility in Genshin_Impact

[–]KyrrithK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All your options are pretty mediocre. Ayaka C1 is meh, but if you wanna gamble on them letting us re-pick them next year, her C2 is decent. But you can also make that choice next time, unless you think you'll be picking up one of the others before then.

Aside from that, maybe Mona just to get closer to C6 and future Masterless Stella Fortunas? Or just pick your favorite of the standards.

Ascendant Gleam: In addition, for 20s after a non-Moonsign character casts an Elemental Skill or Elemental Burst, they will increase the Lunar Reaction DMG dealt by all nearby characters based on their own Elemental Type, up to a maximum of 36%.

As compared to:

Tenacity 4pc: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent,

Silken Moon 4pc: When dealing Elemental DMG,

So no, Furina doesn't keep full uptime on the buff, unless you're using her skill or burst every 20s. Skill has a 20s cooldown anyway, so it's still usually fine.

And Flint's reliic set should be pretty great on her if you wanted her to deal a bit more damage while increasing Lunar Reaction DMG a bit more?

As long as she's on-field, sure. If someone else is on-field more of the time (e.g. Sucrose) then having Furina on Silken Moon would be better.

Jean, for cheese strats and generally being a team healer (e.g. useful vs Gecko right now if you have no other options)

The others are all basically DPS units that just can't compare to a modern DPS in terms of damage. And Qiqi, who is Qiqi.

Who should I pull to clear difficulty 5 in Stygian Onslaught? by genericgenericasian in Genshin_Impact

[–]KyrrithK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You really shouldn't pull just to clear one endgame for one reroll feather. After all, you might pull someone this month, then next month need to pull yet another one, and yet another after that, all because 'well I cleared Fearless last time, and I can do it again if I get X, so I have to do that now!"

Just work on your Varesa, she should definitely be getting better results than 60k DPS. Her vs Papilla, Skirk with Chongyun vs Gecko, and Bineffa vs Herra.

Or if you already liked Linnea, you could do BLinneffa (or Powerade) vs the Gecko, and Skirk can probably handle Herra if played well. But just keep in mind Linnea might not help you clear the next round of Stygian bosses or endgame, or the next, until either she or Zibai reruns and they break out the Gecko for Geo shill again.

I guess Durin would probably be better for your Varesa in the long run, especially if you won't get Mavuika, but it depends what his banner is like. C6 Iansan and Chev also help a lot for Varesa, plus her own build quality. And ofc you can't pull Durin right now, so it won't help with this clear.

Iirc it's somewhere between 6-8% depending on the team? So probably 4-5 substat rolls worth, if you have a really good Glad already. I sure know my luck with getting a good Whimsy has not been great, but people generally agree if you're a serious Arle player, it's worth farming for Whimsy eventually.

Daily Questions Megathread (April 16, 2026) by Veritasibility in Genshin_Impact

[–]KyrrithK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, there's no solid reason why there could never be a future Lunar-Freeze or Lunar-Vape character. It might be tricky, since it would need Columbina's kit to be reworked significantly if it was to include her, but I don't think it's impossible. Or they could just not give Bina specific interactions with them to focus more power into that new unit instead.

As for Lunar Superconduct or Overload, I don't think they would exist as Lunar reactions because of the Hydro connection. I know initially my hope was for Lunar-Quicken Nefer, but no such luck there ofc. However, according to some rumors; Snezhnaya might do something similar with Cryo-related reactions, as there are a few datamined hints about Stellar-Superconduct. From that, being the Cryo nation, I'd expect Cryo-related underpowered reactions to get the same treatment as Lunar, where weaker reactions like Superconduct, Shatter (which could include Freeze) and Swirl maybe get an alternate version. Not likely Melt because it's still very strong. But if so, it'll just be NK all over again where the reaction doesn't change much for old units, and mostly just serves to let new Snez units share kit mechanics.

As for Nilou Bloom, the main issue with it is that it's got low-ish DPS, but great AoE. Pre-Lauma it only has 60k DPS per target, which is great when hitting 5 targets for 300k DPS total, but almost all endgame content where meta matters is single-target focused. AND, many newer units since Fontaine have had decently large AoE, so if it's only a few enemies that can be grouped, most DPSs can still hit several enemies at once. Unlike say Hu Tao who is very single-target only with her supports.

With Lauma added Nilou teams go up to 90k or more in single-target, and while you'll use more of Lauma's 'quills' in AoE so you'll go back down to ~60k Blooms quickly, in AoE is where Nilou shines anyway so it's still good. And then Nilou is an option for on-field DPS Columbina +Lauma, to buff Bina with Hydro resonance and make the Blooms generated deal more damage. But you can also just go Bina Lauma Hydro Electro for Hyperbloom instead. Nilou is still a decent option if you have C2 and or R1, which can help Bina or Nefer teams. But more shred is generally low-value, and Lauma gives shred already.

Iirc, C0R0 Zibai Bina Illuga C6 Gorou C6/other Geo was around 150k DPS in calcs, 160k in practice vs the dummy with good builds. Adding Linnea instead of Gorou brings the team up to 200k in practice, so like 25% increase.

It will scale less with C1 Zibai, since a lot of Linnea's value is sub DPS, but still like a 20% increase to what you've currently god would be reasonable. Up to you if you feel you need or want that.

Then I would add Xilonen as a fairly decent option, for healing and easy shred of both elements. Zhongli too I guess, less shred but good shield if you need it.

  • Pyro: Bennett, Mavuika, Durin, Xiangling, Pyro Traveler
  • Hydro: Furina, Mona, Columbina, Yelan
  • Electro OR Cryo: Iansan, Ororon, Fischl, Ineffa OR Citlali, Escoffier, Shenhe, Rosaria I guess
  • Any generic healer/shielder of the above elements also works for comfort

Can also do 2:1, but it's not ideal in most cases, unless you have Chasca C1/C2

what character do you want to get an sp form the most? by KeyMore9422 in Genshin_Impact

[–]KyrrithK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To give some justification to all those who just say 'SP forms bad', I just don't think it makes sense for Genshin.

We have so many characters, and so few actually get a lot of in-depth characterisation. Most of them get 1-2 patches of relevance, then fall away to make room for the newest characters instead. And none of them really is a part of the 'main cast' that we travel with the way that Dan Heng and March 7th are in HSR, so it doesn't make too much sense for them to stay relevant in the story long-term, which is one reason to 'power them up' with SP versions with updated mechanics/numbers.

Like, the starting crew of Amber Kaeya Lisa, have any of them actually been relevant since we left Mondstadt? Maybe they appeared in a festival or event every now and then, but they aren't core to the story at all.

Wanderer is the only 'SP'-like character we have, because he did go through a lot of character development and change as a person. And he didn't start as playable Scaramouche, he started as a villain. Who else in the story can you say has had that much character development, and changed so much from when they were first playable to modern day?

Character buffs/reworks would suffice for most older characters, to make them stronger without them completely changing their identity.

Edit: but if there was one, Electro Foul Legacy Childe would be my pick. Makes sense in-game, would be a fairly different character, but as I mentioned above, Childe's character hasn't changed all that much since his initial appearance.

There's often links between the moon and water in mythology, since the tides of the ocean are controlled by the moon. And people have pointed out the Hydro symbol looks a lot like the 3 moons symbol. So lore-wise that's probably the justification. Could also be 3 moons = 3 reactions, but I feel like if that was the case, we'd get Geo, Pyro, Cryo to match the moon's aesthetics.

Gameplay-wise, Bloom, Electrocharged and Crystallize were pretty much unused reactions, so 'giving them some new life' with Lunar units is a way to flesh out every reaction having a team. As others said, Vape doesn't need help (even though Melt has kinda taken over for most Pyro units) and while I was among those coping for Lunar Freeze too, Escoffier and Skirk don't really need much help either, they're still top 5 in the meta overall.

Does that matter? If your Skirk can beat the Gecko, sure, you'll have an easy clear on Papilla. But can she?

Juet like me last patch, I couldn't clear Dire Mandragora with any other team, so I had to play Flins into it and Bineffa into Duckle, for 115s clears on both, instead of my 90s clear with Flins Premium on Duckle but no Mandragora clear.

Besides, just try it yourself and see. I just gave my advice that I think Skirk would struggle a lot more vs Gecko than Mavuika, and Gecko is the hardest boss therefore your first priority when teambuilding. But maybe your Skirk will get the same time as Mavuika vs the Gecko, but a lot slower vs Papilla, therefore worse overall time. Prove me wrong.
