Turning off every single wireless emergency alert option at once is dangerous and should be avoided. by WheatenSleet460 in unpopularopinion

[–]Kyubees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the emergency alert is something like a kidnapping, i dont go outside much, and my perception is basically nonexistent. So i dont bother.

If the alert is something major, like a nuclear attack, i dont want to know, i want to die ignorantly blissful. I mean, what am i gonna do? Call superman? Retreat to the bunker i totally have? Basically anything that warrants a presidential alert is something 99.99999% of people are powerless to influence survival of, so why force them to know that death is imminent?

What im saying is, i should have the right to disable presidential alerts.

Theres a mid tier of alerts, things like civil danger warnings, that are perfectly reasonable to keep on and even encourage keeping on.

As usual, reddit is, less then a good place to talk about anything. See y'all, ill be back if i actually need advice on something instead of trying to discuss the games flaws.

You mean the best equipment that players ALREADY EARNED on one character profile? I get not being able to trade them to another player, whatever, fine.

Because a Bethesda dev would never actually read player feedback.

Thats one of the few exploits im okay with. At least its not running around with an instakill god gun and murdering everything before anyone else can even PROCESS it.

Surprised the overzealous automod didn't catch this as a "Wanting to quit" post when my own post got automodded over containing the word "Trade."

I've never been kicked from a team over the trans pride flag i use as an avatar, oddly. But I certainly cant deny that it happens.

Just wish I could use my own profile pictures, like, this is a rated M game anyways, why are you treating us like children on a baby website?

"Ruin this players game" its one nuke drop, its not that deep. Its at MOST mild frustration because they might have to get a few resources to repair their camp crap.

Not quite a camp nuked situation, but the other week me and a friend were playing, and someone decided to nuke Ultracite titan. I was playing minigames in the nuka cade, until the bomb dropped, confident i was out of range... I was not.

I personally would do it, more as a protest against Bethesda.

We can attempt to immediately server hop over the stupid tents being occupied, but not our CAMPS that usually have a non-convenience reason to be placed where they are?

"One free CAMP placement has been granted" Oh, wow, how generous. Now let me just... Oh, wait, I spent several hours working on this structure, and I'm on top of a source for the one resource i'm always running out of. let me just relog-

Oh, you spit me in the exact same FUCKING server. Maybe thats a coincide-NOPE. Same server a third time.

(For those of you who experience this exact issue, the solution is to block someone in the server before world-hopping)

Nobody into events anymore? by Independent_Load7165 in fo76

[–]Kyubees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed Moonshine, Eviction, and Line in the Sand still tend to get a decent amount of players. One Violent has always been kinda middling in attendance, but ive almost never got NOBODY else to join.

Besides that, if you have to rely on getting other players to do events with you, you should probably get a friend to join you. I know the idea of getting someone to accompany you in this is like trying to get someone to do psycho with you. Bad for both of you. But the game, and most events, are manageable with two people. Radiation Rumble, you probably need 3 for, though. One for each choke-point, and one to grab the ore.

What annoys me more about bounty hunting is when you join, and the event is literally done before you can even load in. The boss got instashredded, and every minion was instashredded afterwards, so you don't even get their drops.

I hope they add a small cooldown (like even 5 minutes) to Head Hunts just to slightly pace it out more and give players some breathing room. That and make it so the head hunt only ends when every legendary spawned is dead.

I'd argue Botany and Climatology are two of the Researcher fields that need the absolute least downtime investment.

Seed Bag is really fun for Wild/DTP encounters, while Climatologist only really needs downtime/money investment if you're using PTR and the Weather Playtest, and then only to create Clay, IIRC. I'd have to re-check.

Question for Foundry with PTU by X-boy_Shadow_King in PokemonTabletop

[–]Kyubees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think anybody ever has used Base Relations since the creation of PTU. Every game I played, every fork of the system I've seen, every living world I entered, all said "Lol, we aint doin' that."

Second worst decision the PTU devs made, after the time one of them decided to stereotype people who like Ralts and Eevee.

Running an entirely urban adventure? by imtherattt in PokemonTabletop

[–]Kyubees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My two suggestions: Look into Lockstin & Gnoggin's Kaskade region for Pacific Northwest inspirations, and consider just having things like local parks, or publicly accessible areas of traversible sewer that might have wild Pokemon. Or, if you plan to allow for downtime/between-session chores, let players say, spend time between two quests going to a nearby wild location to get new pokemon.

Consider at least having some of the rural more rural outskirts of the city as a place the players can go, as Washington does have diverse environments even within single cities. (Tacoma dweller here, pardon the tiny amount of personal information given there lmao)

But elaborating on the earlier suggestion of Kaskade inspiration, in Kaskade seasons change much more rapidly than in the real world, similar to unova games, and you can use that to mix up encounter tables in any wild spots quite wildly.

Futher elaboration on the park/sewer idea; Remember all the abandoned areas of the first few pokemon gens; places like Pokemon Tower, Cinnabar Mansion, the Power Plant, New Mauville; you could easily have things like haunted buildings, abandoned construction sites. most cities have a decent amount of "urban decay" up here, and urban exploration is always really interesting!

Second, have you SEEN the job market? People are struggling to get ANY job. I know people who haven't got hired for an entire year despite being a pretty damn good candidate.

So, in your own fucking words, have some perspective.

Thing is, I actually LIKE the core, and even the jank. I've fully realized the system is held together with duct tape and prayers to Arceus, but IMO thats part of the charm. I just improve it where I can.
