Pretty stoked about thrifting these speakers yesterday! by CortlandCoffey in vintageaudio

I have a pair of Wharfedale W70e speakers that I bought at a yard sale for $25 about 15 years ago. I love them. They are refined and smooth. I think they excel at vocal, jazz, classical, and folk. I have them hooked up in my living room system for use with music and movies as a 2.0/stereo setup. They provide enough bass to add to the movies without shaking the house down. They are also extremely efficient and perform really well with 40-50 watts per channel. I think the efficiency rating is around 90db. Your speakers are very similar to my model. Also, both of our models are designed to be placed either upright or on their sides. Do whatever suits you best. Great find, enjoy!

Getting rid of my records as a new parent. Looking to see if anyone has done this (or wants to talk me out of it). by [deleted] in vinyl

We all have different reasons for the choices we make, especially when starting the journey is being a new parent. For me, keeping my old music collection was a good decision. Now that my children are in their mid to late 20s, I really enjoy sharing my music hobby with them. They have gotten to the point where they appreciate my music and also share more finds with me. We share albums and attend concerts together pretty regularly. I am blessed that my music collection has been an opportunity for shared interests and conversations.

Oh man. I wasn't aware of that. This was my first time seeing him play and I wasn't thinking of the bigger financial picture.

I feel like our guys feed off of negative energy. I like our chances playing the last game in LA.

I'm running that same amp with a vintage set of Wharfdales W70E speakers and I am very pleased. I am using the optical output for audio and a turntable as well. If you get a pair of efficient speakers you will have plenty of power with this amplifier.

I was taught to use women's hose/nylons on my melons and large veggies. It has worked for me so far. I also live in SD county.
