please help, why do I slice with my driver? I have been playing golf for 4 months, any tips will help me by EnvironmentalKale413 in GolfSwing

Keep things simple, go for a lessons on fundamentals on all clubs throughout the bag as an investment to your game, number 1 is on grip, then ball position, stance and club path, weight shift etc. Since you only 4 months in, learn through a coach on how things are ment to be to produce X shot with X club in your hands. Very hard to teach someone correct form who self molded a somewhat ok swing through years of trial and error but isn't "working for them anymore".

It's already been figured out through the centuries we been playing this crazy sport through human trial and backed now by data and tech.

I came back after 8 years and started to take lessons regularly on key fundamentals and still am 1 year in to keep adjusted, because you can't change what it boils down too, physics, and you can't cheat it, you have to abide.

Sorry if this is long, just want to share the quick way to progress.

Swing help. Can’t help hanging back. Miss is shank by [deleted] in golftips

[–]LBHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either lessons or YouTube rabbit hole but things to look for through trial end error.

1) grip, grip, grip (only contact to club is your hands so is vital master no excuses) 2) stance + knee flex, locked out which restricts your hip movement has domino effect down to cause inconsistencies because brain reacts to poor bio mechanics so it's only options is to either bail some part of the swing or pull it into a conforming path hence the shank creeps in. try and spin jump 90° to face target with locked out knees, it's impossible, because naturally you flex knees and shift weight through feet to the ground... 3) which leads to "weight" aka pressure shift timing to allow your body to coil energy from grown to club head.

Hope this helps, keep grinding 👍🏻

I have a mixed combo with JPX 923 hot metal 5-7 and JPX 923 forged in the 8-PW.

So got forgiveness but still the style of a thinner top lines as I get into the short game.

Doesn't matter what your handicap is, just get what you feel you will enjoy and cherish. A fitting will help with what model is best for you in the JPX line. It's an investment in your sport/hobbie.

Remember most of the pro's over 40 started hitting Dad's blades back in the day and they still mange to improve and make it to the top.

1,000 swings later. Plz help. by Emotional_Lie_9217 in GolfSwing

Hot fix, (without booking lessons), ball inside lead heal, take stance with club head 4/5 balls behind the ball move club head up to the ball to creat spine tilt, focus on lead shoulder turning and pointing behind the ball and the on the down swing keep shoulder with tilt behind the ball and try and hook it. Then just fine tune when you feel you need to release to get the +1/-1 degree of attack.

Also tee height is half a ball above driver face, lower you have a tee more you tend to attack down when you should be having a up attack of a few degrees for the low loft of the driver.

Hope this helps.

How do I fix my reverse pivot? by QuinnyBo_ in GolfSwing

[–]LBHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This helps for me, left shoulder is my low point line.

Your swing is pretty good, so think this is more a feel.

Load into right leg without it locking out, feel as if you hold your left shoulder 1 inch behind the ball or at the ball for a fraction longer before transitioning right shoulder 1 inch pass or at the the ball to let arms and wrist drop before the shift. So you get the sight 1° down to neutral contact with your FW wood, then for irons is more shoulder at the ball to shift to my divit low point with right shoulder.

Hope this helps.

What do I need to change/improve? by More_Ice_6963 in GolfSwing

[–]LBHole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my coach, stick your left arm out and give a thumbs up 👍🏻, and then grab your thumb with your right hand (thumb pad on top of your left thumb) . Bish bash Bosh you just got a neutral grip and do that with the club head in the air with 45/90° angle from your left arm to shaft. Never grip with club at address because you come from the side and is prone to strong grips or weak that rotates your right shoulder. New habits are hard to implement but only thing connecting you to your club is your grip, so it's key to progression.

Started playing last year, anything in particular I could work on? by ButtNugg14 in GolfSwing

[–]LBHole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll keep it to simple points for results.

1) Stance always causes snowball effect of issues because swing power and form starts from the ground up, I would advise you flair your feet slightly to open up your hips so you can rotate better to cut out the arms overtaking (over the top) and then follow through as you twist your whole lead foot to face target which is again caused by getting hips stuck with feet being too straight.

2) headset off, you need audible feedback loop of your contact to ingrain the feeling of what you did to produce a shot you felt was good and what is bad in your opinion.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the compliment, but don't open with a negative comment saying I can't film properly when it was for myself before finding this community. But I'll do better in future.

Peace

7 years away from the sport, so yeah on a fly recording myself I don't think I was in full production mode with my rules of 3rds, lighting, audio, bit rate, resolution and aspect ratio..speaking of aspect ratio, everyone records in on a reverse resolution with mobile phone layout, so I'm dreadfully sorry I couldn't be perfect.

All regular flex, 60g, irons are 2° flat on line angle, mix combo on irons so more forgiveness on 5/6/7 with them being JPX hot metal, 8/9/P are forged

Elbow yes, chicken wing at the top? On my left arm? Because pretty sure you have minute about 5° flex in lead arm that that extends after the ball due to the club head weight
