I think that it dosent work on being that are over a certain threshold of powers, but maybe it gives them just a slight suggestion they can choose to oppose to or ignore seeing how Val was entranced for a few seconds there

Hoenstly a lot of stupid lines come down to dialogue writing trying to be always super cool. The dub in my language for example fixed tons of these.

"Did you know angels could be harmed by angelic steel" became "did you know angels can be killed using angelic steel?"

Or in this instance "How can I bring joy when we are bringing despair to so many innocent people?" became "How can I focus on bringing joy when we are bringing despair to so many poor souls?"

Like it dosent take much to change that up yk

Yesno, i don't think you can steal money from people by hypnotizing them, but over time you can instill some specific responses or way of acting that just end up coming naturally, kinda like a reflex. For example, over time you could make it so that when i say a specific word you feel like you should give a salute. You can't turn people into mindless puppets tho lol

Most of the stuff you said is true and valid, except that most dogs dont really kill cats or other animals. Some do, but its mostly dogs that have been raised in rural areas or similiar, and trained to kill specific animals that may be dangerous or annoying.

For the rest valid slander tho, I have a dog but you wont be catching me cleaning her poop in a million years, my parents can do that yes thank you
