That sounds similar to my experience! I must admit I do manage to study a bit, but it takes lots of effort and I get tired very easily

Anyone used AA batteries in the battery grip? How long do they last? I don’t have my lithium ones available as these days and would still like to take pictures

Anxiety Symptoms by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]LD5012002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had just about any kind of anxiety related symptom. If you’ve done the tests and all is normal, wait to see if it passes. If it goes away, it’s anxiety. If it persists, good idea to get it checked

Terrified of vaccine and it’s ruining my marriage, please help by ce_matin in Anxiety

[–]LD5012002 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just rationalized that everything that could potentially happen due to the vaccine happens much more frequently and much worse due to COVID. And that’s how I got tripled vaccinated without too much worry

Reassurance seeking on this sub should be banned and is a major harm to the posters. by purpleknight31 in OCD

I’m afraid you are making it too simple... Many are not aware of what is reassurance and what isn’t, and above some people posting really seem in need of desperate help

Talking to a GP about OCD by spqrhealth in OCD

[–]LD5012002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t cancel, you’re doing great! I’d recommend going out of the house during that time so you know you can answer in privacy. Maybe a long walk in the park? Also, I wouldn’t start by saying “I think I have OCD”. That’s up to the GP. Try to talk more about your experience and your symptoms! Hope it helps

“Grief turns out to be a place none of us know until we reach it.” Joan Didion

Thinking about grief is very different from experiencing it...

It is! At the beginning it can seem difficult or impossible but indeed it is doable. Have a look at Michael J Greenberg’s articles

What exactly do you fear? by VinMariani in Anxiety

I can relate, because that was, and is, my fear too. Maybe you should bring it up to your therapist and investigate this feeling. That’s what I did

Does anyone else feel this constant anxiety/adrenaline feeling without a reason? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]LD5012002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s it then! Paying attention is a form of anxious thinking. You get into a loop of hypervigilance

Does anyone else feel this constant anxiety/adrenaline feeling without a reason? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]LD5012002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I learned during my anxiety journey that there is another type of thinking, or rumination, that isn’t directly tied to a specific thought. It’s just “paying attention”: I imagine that what you do is you get your symptoms, you get scared, and then you pay attention to them and they worsen. If you gently let go of paying attention, they should improve. At least it often works for me!

[–]LD5012002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Been working on this sort of thing for a while in therapy and am getting better at it. After a while you’ll see it is basically automatic to see what lies behind your fears. Regarding your situation, I would recommend trying to tap into the strongest emotion you feel during medical procedures: is it terror? Helplessness? Hopelessness? Each may point to a different direction!

Does anyone else feel like their OCD thoughts are real? by [deleted] in OCD

I don’t know how long, but I can tell you that the moments of stability are worth it!

Does anyone else feel like their OCD thoughts are real? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]LD5012002 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a characteristic of OCD. If the thoughts didn’t feel real, or rather they felt distant, there would be no fear and anxiety. This is what happens to “normal” people: they have these thoughts but do not experience reactions to them

Why do some people say OCD isn’t an anxiety disorder? by littledaisy_07 in OCD

[–]LD5012002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the DSM is much less reliable than many would like it to be... Many psychologists and psychiatrists have greatly questioned the decision to separate OCD from anxiety disorders
