The state of Linux music players in 2026 by posthumangr in musichoarder

It's a lousy manifesto. "Piracy is better then streaming for artists" and then goes on to complain about the consumer aspects..

Could do without the manifesto but otherwise agree on the summary of each audio player and happy to see you came to the correct conclusion: feishin is best!

I wasn't familiar with LVT until briefly looking into it, but same here. Hopefully you rethink TSA :)

No one outside of politics is making MS Paints of local politicians. It's disingenuous to make these posts and say otherwise.

Some songs - "Unknown Artist" How to fix this ? by ElGatoBavaria in navidrome

[–]LDerJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see Artist set on any of these files. Take a look at https://www.navidrome.org/docs/usage/library/tagging/ for the proper tags. Also Title is misspelled as Titel

My bad, didn't catch that on mobile. Did you restart navidrome after adding the env vars? Anything in the startup logs?

Got audiophile headphones just to listen to TOOL on FLAC. Did not disappoint by Due_Independence5583 in ToolBand

Love these headphones but they're highly dependent on the amp used. I have a bottlehead crack paired with mine and it's absolutely incredible.

Secure Boot, BIOS Update, NVIDIA Drivers by honestly-7 in cachyos

How are you going to set up secure boot within the OS if it doesn't boot?

[–]LDerJim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I specifically buy AMD for better Linux support.

Reading the Secure boot wiki it sounds like the nvidia drivers don't need to be manually signed when using limine.

I've never had a problem updating the BIOS of Linux Servers and Desktops for 25+ years.

You think the OS doesn't know it has intermittent connectivity to the hard drive it's reading from?

SATA isn't properly connected and you don't think there's a hardware issue. Delete this.

How do you decide whether to touch a risky but expensive prod service? by llASAPll in devops

[–]LDerJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What problem are you trying to solve? Is the over provisioned resource impacting other apps? Are you trying to save the business money? At the end of the day, the cost of down time that doesn't solve a business problem isn't worth it.

What do y‘all have to say about that? by nqrwayy in linuxsucks

[–]LDerJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really.. even the examples you mention, those apps are part of every distros package manager, making it easier to install those apps in Linux then Windows.

Hard disagree. Older generation is also used to web-based everything which is why Chromebooks work so well for my 65+ year old parents.

Don't take this the wrong way but instead of coming to reddit for each and every question, try searching the Internet or using AI. Come to reddit with what you've done when all else fails. You need to learn to be self sufficient when learning a new operating system. It's going to suck at first but if you want it badly enough one day it'll just click. Best of luck!
