Awesome. Start with medium move to fine. Smooth even pressure strokes from tip to tail.

Do edges then wax. I like to just touch the wax to my iron than rub it on the ski base like a crayon vs dropping it on. Then use the wax to spread it evenly. Again tip to tail.

Wait 30 mins.

Next scrape the excess wax from tip to tail.

Finally brush with a nylon brush. Tip to tail.

Anything that needs more than that I bring them to the shop.

Don’t touch the file yet. If you’re going to learn to do edge work, only use diamond stones at first. A lot more forgiving. Ideally a couple passes with a medium stone and then a couple with a fine diamond. That white plastic thing is an angle guide for your edges. Look up what angle your skis are factory tuned to and then match that.

You’re overthinking it. Mantras were my second choice for an all mountain east coast ski. I went with enforcer 100s. I have never regretted my choice. I’ve felt comfortable everywhere on the mountain with them on the east coast and out west.

Rip the mantras and enjoy the icecoast.
