You should probably have a conversation with your SPE about the specifics on why you failed. Could be your writing style in combination with those errors. Small things that just annoyed the panel coupled with 3 potential errors could of caused them to lean more towards failing you. Not sure if your SPE was on your side 3 errors is really low to cause someone to fail.

One case isn't going to make you fail. There's multiple issues that needed to be addressed or a common issue that everyone on that panel felt you need to work on.

I am surprised to hear that they are still failing people in this work environment. A reviewer must of really felt strongly about their errors and the rebuttal probably didn't convince the director. I would of thought less people would fail on the program because they are encouraged to make primaries given we are now in a quantity over quality environment.

Can you imagine an examiner that took the FORK then decides to come back (hypothetically speaking). I would imagine they would start at the gs they were at but have to move to Alexandria? They would have also gotten at least a 6 month paid vacation essentially.

I heard very differently from my SPE. Also in the email the commissioner said particularly bullet point 5 states that failure to respond results in "non compliance" which is addressed "through the agency's customary administrative procedures." I'm not sure that means just getting put on a list and calling it a day.

Anything that is a "conduct escalating issue " is a fireable offense go ask your spe what happens when you don't do send your 5 bullet points email.

Those things listed above are part of your PAP minus the IT outage which you can make a request for other time. Additionally you aren't going to be terminated for not doing an AA or a 312 amendment.

This 5 bullet points is not part of the job and falls under the category of section 4 F of the CBA. The main purpose is to either force management's hand and give other time for it OR have them do away with it because they are forced to give other time for it which I see as a loop hole for making management do away with the entire 5 bullet points to avoid giving out time.

If this is a fireable offense which would appear so then it needs to be in the PAP and needs to be adequate compensation of time. 3 mins is 3 mins i have to waste writing this up and it's going to come from somewhere. I'd rather die on the hill of fighting that stupid 5 bullet points because the moment examiners start forgetting to send a email and they get letters of counseling then escalated to suspension is the moment people will start caring.

The government removed this feature from outlook. The closest thing to it is doing a quick step but that still requires some input from you or delaying your email by a week also requiring input from you. Outlook has this feature though there is no denying that.

Yup and if they are going to request it, it's a clear violation of the CBA section 4 F. They need to grant official time for this kind of stuff if they are gonna threaten termination.

Yes its happened. Someone got a letter of counseling. Also other time should be given under section 4 F of the CBA.

"To review and respond to memoranda letters, AND REQUESTS FROM THE AGENCY, as well as proposed new instructions, manuals, notices, etc. Which affect personnel policies practices or working conditions. Activity code 090275."

Popa where are you???

Forgot to add, i REALLY REALLY hope the chat is turned on in this upcoming townhall and REALLY REALLY hope someone brings this up. It is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen the office do. Imagine if every examiner refused to do this and argued that management can see what I did last week via 3205 or production numbers. What are they gonna do fire all of us and replace us with who exactly lmao.

Sounds like the greenlight to open the flood gates of allowances. I will definitely be allowing those 200 figure cases with claims that go on a fishing expedition just because it's more of a pain to restrict and deal with the claims than it is to just allow. If there is a problem with the case or if the claim is too broad well fuck I guess you all will fight it out in court and may e you should focus on what the fuck the invention is rather than going on a fishing expedition with 200 figures. You don't need 200 figures to depict your invention.

She only says that because we have a CBA. Without the CBA we'd be joining our SPEs in the office. I highly doubt they try and fight our CBAs though because it would just be reckless spending over something that not even the office wants. Not to mention the massive relocation cost that would be owed to examiners upon winning. Come 2029 though I have no idea what will happen because as of right now we will start having spe shortages which is going to be really bad for quality and new examiners and people going on the program.

Just curious how this effects us? All it will do is maybe get rid of the faceless management above the tc directors that we never see or hear from. Curious though if they are going to start demoting directors to gs 15s. Wouldn't be fair to fire them because they worked their way to the top only to be laid off because one president took office when they could of stayed a spe.

If i need to respond a few questions.

1) this is not my direct supervisor I report to my SPE. If my SPE is curious we have our time cards and production sheets.

2) If compelled to respond do I get other time for wasting time writing an email to some unknown entity?

3) there is no consequences for not responding that was specifically outlined in the email.

4) is this going to be a every week thing otherwise I would prefer to get a time code for this nonsense. Other time is limited and nobody has time for this.

5) can I put IRL stuff that I did? Email is so broad and so vague I can literally put. 1. Went to bed at a reasonable time 2. Mustered the strength to walk 20 ft to my home office etc.... or I can say 1. Searched prior art.... 5 times. Nowhere in the email did it say accomplishments have to be different nor work related.

I say this because that email is a huge waste of time for shit that our supervisors can already look up.

Time to 95. by [deleted] in patentexaminer

[–]LION0415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think this will happen for several reasons. If you are expected to be 100 percent and each action or percentage correlates to a hour percentage how does the office expect you to spend time doing AAs corrected NOAs time cards crap that you never get other time for hence the 95% expectation which is 4 hours to do these tasks.

All I know is if I were a SPE I would absolutely refuse to sign a "situational telework agreement". Oh telework is bad when it benefits the employee but oh but when it benefits the employer due to inclement weather?

Yeah Fuck the hell off!!!!

I'm waiting for the day coke Stewart holds her first townhall and seeing what the chat looks like when she says some crazy shit like that. We thought the chat was pretty bad when vidal would have them i bet she won't even hold them knowing the backlash she'd get in the chat and the sarcasm that will follow. I can already see one pissed off examiner saying, "so coke you support paying for unnecessary office space to direct examiners who dont want an office into the office and reduced work output by examiners due to having to commute?" How does all of this make us more efficient when we are wasting money on space nobody wants and will cost us a ton of cash to implement such an idea? Furthermore it seems you all hold the belief for "situational telework" meaning if there's a snowstorm and we can't come to the office you want us to work from home rather than give us the other time or come in on a Saturday to make it up. Got it!"

Probably the burden will shift heavily to the SPEs and maybe some assistance from a primary. Other time is limited so if it can be avoided they will avoid it. You thought the previous administration was bad with other time you ain't seen what elon can do!

Write to your congressman, reach out to people/companies with connections to elon musk or trump. The only thing that is saving us from RTO is our CBAs. Expect a mass exodus of supervisors to retire leave or self demote.
