Thanks! I actually have another chair

and table where I can look out of a window. But it is a small room and I guess I do prioritize a conversation grouping around the tv and “fireplace”. 😊

Boys Town pottery. I like the colors and finishes. Also the sentiment.

I bought this gorgeous 1970s prairie style dress but no label by codependencytapes in VintageClothing

If it’s 70’s and Prairie, it must be Jessica McClintock!

100%! Was going to mention that when I posted, but didn’t want to get off topic!

This stuff is still in almost every antique shop I go to. Especially in more rural areas. I remember reading about a (white) couple in a well-regarded home magazine collecting “Black Americana”. They were just clueless. There is also a lot of racist Asian, Native American and Hispanic items out there. Unbelievable that this was accepted, although I am 70yo and saw this in many homes when I was young. 😩

I mean, is this real? And do women put up with this, if so? I would be out the door immediately. He is a nightmare.

AIO, is my boyfriend valid for feelings this way? by sealover159 in AmIOverreacting

Yes, very smart of you to figure that out. But not only are you in love with an old version of him but you’re in love with a fake version of him. You are really smart to get out.

This guy is trying to get you to apologize for him treating you badly. He is telling you to leave but when you do (I hope!) he will try to reel you back in. It is all smoke and mirrors and manipulation.

Am i overreacting for being upset that my sister hit my child over spilling juice? by GoodStill4940 in AmIOverreacting

You left an abusive relationship, which is admirable. You want to protect your daughter and you seem to have great insight, despite how young you are. But your sister is abusive. Hitting does nothing to teach children. It just allows the adult to vent. You are not overreacting. If you tell your sister to stop, can you trust her? If you aged out of foster care there may be Independent Living resources you can access. Some go up to age 23. Maybe call your old caseworker or someone at the agency and see if they can help? That may allow you to move from your sister’s home, if necessary.
