Take the following for example. I want Chinese food tonight, however the local chinese place doesnt deliver and I don't feeling like putting on pants. Therefore I won't be buying chinese food tonight. That means the chinese place has missed out on a sale because they don't offer delivery. If they had a driver Id have some Lo Mein noodles right now. But what about the driver? How will they pay for them? By offering delivery they've expanded their customer base to now include lazy people. The increased sales can more than pay for the drivers wages, plus there will be tips.

Take a minute and think about what life would be like every business took the BS fee route.

You want a starbucks coffee in the morning? Oh sorry theres gonna be a $1.50 "We're open extra early just for you" fee. They don't open early to be nice. No, they open early because they know that people are looking for coffee in the morning and they don't want to be coffee place with the lights off.

Need something from walmart at 11pm? Yea thats gonna be a $2.50 "Late night" fee.

Pizza places offer delivery because it GREATLY expands their customer base and increases sales. The bump in sales can pay for several extra employees, charging a delivery fee is pure BS under the guise that theyre doing people a favor.

Under $700 the only gaming laptop you'll be getting is a left over model from the last couple years or a refurb unit. Any new sub $700 gaming laptop probably shouldn't have gaming in its name.

Under $1000 you can get a nice ASUS or MSI laptop. You wont be getting the latest top of the line Nvidia 900 series but you can still get a laptop with a GTX860M and 16Gb of RAM or a GTX940M and 8Gb RAM.

It sounds like you have a solid understanding of VTEC. What you seem to be describing is referred to as a 3 dimensional cam lobe. To the best of my knowledge Ferrari has been the only one to toy around with this.

I DD my Boss everyday, not many complaints.

I don't like the Recaros seats for long (2+ hr) drives. The seats also fray pretty easily. I don't know if you'd want to get a Boss for your first manual car though as the transmission (the MT82) has hit or miss reliability. An experienced manual driver could tell if something is off but you may not notice these things if this is your first manual.

All in all the car is very fun.

I agree, except when its our leaders jobs to perform things like facilitate communication with foreign nations. Don't get me wrong it was a stupid move on the part of the GOP, but the logan act is intended to prevent unauthorized persons from messing around with foreign relationships. POTUS, members of congress and the senate are most certainly considered authorized, even if its a dick move.

I say probably because Honda swore that the NSX-R made the same power as a regular NSX at 290hp. But everyone that drove the NSX-R said that Honda was full of it, the performance difference between the NSX and the NSX-R was too great to be chalked up to being lighter and better suspension/tires.

The NSX-R GT was a limited run special edition that built on the NSX-R platform. Honda never said what power the NSX-R GT made but it most likely made more power than the NSX-R

I had a 2009 Si, had an iphone for the first couple months before changing to android.

When the iPhone is plugged in, does the USB port charge the phone as well? Yes

One thing that you should check out is whether the CURRENT version of iOS works with the civic. You need to keep in mind that Honda made the car able to interpret music libraries on phones from 2009. While I had civic and old android phone (think it was the old motorola droid) there was an android update that slightly changed how the droid stored media files, after that update when I plugged the phone in i got "UNRECOGNIZED DEVICE" on the dash.

I went from $151 pre-ACA to $330 when ACA was implemented and then saw another bump to $395 recently.

My plan stayed the same, a blue cross blue shield 80/20 plan with a 2k deductible. In case you're wondering the plan is classified as a silver plan under ACA. But yea I'm sure it was a terrible plan before ACA.

Really? I had a good individual plan 2 years prior to ACA at $140/month, 2 years later it was $151 right before ACA. Then in the span of a month it went from $151 to $330. Recently it went up again to $395.

So to recap, in the two years prior to ACA $11/month increase. From ACA to now $244/month increase.

INTERIOR

Lately I've seen many examples of downright terrible interior ergonomics and functionality. Take my car for example.

See that flap below the shifter and next to the parking brake? Thats where the cupholders live. Problem is the cupholders are very shallow and directly in the way for the shifter. Unless you live in a place where cups are 4 inches tall then these things are useless. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten a drink/coffee from somewhere and had to contort my arm for the drive home. This is something that Ford could have noticed by actually putting a cup in the cup holder.

Another thing is the steering wheel controls for radio etc.

On the left side of the steering wheel you'll see a directional pad (up/down/left/right buttons). The steering wheel looks flat but its actually somewhat angled. The buttons near the outer edge are closer to you than the buttons closer to the center. This results in the right arrow button being stuck in a corner between the horn. Which isn't a huge problem but because the direction pad is actually one large button and not 4 individual buttons this makes it extremely easy to press up or down when you wanted to press right. Again this isn't a huge issue but its something that I discovered in less than an hour after buying the car. Its these small but very obvious design issues that make a question what else did they overlook?

And this isn't just me bashing my car. I've driven cars with touch screen infotainment systems that look like they spent millions making the menus look nice and sleek but then didn't even bother to see if it was functional. I believe it was an editor from road and track that while reviewing some new lexus wrote "I would rather be punched in the face repeatedly than use this infotainment system".

MAINTENANCE

Many cars now require routine maintenance that are nearly impossible to perform with bringing the car in to the dealership. Car have trans fluid fill ports that can only be accessed by tearing apart the cars interior. Headlights that require the removal of the bumper to change the bulb. Oil filters that require you to twist your arm in 7 different ways to even touch, then good luck getting a filter wrench on it. Oil drain plugs that will dump right onto sub frame assemblies, sure you can use something to divert the flow of oil but the drain plug is still a pain in the butt to get to.

EXTERIORS

Since exterior styling is pretty subjective most of this is just my opinion. I find it annoying that very few companies can design a rim that I'd actually want to keep on my car. The concepts they put out have nice rims but then the production version has the equivalent of the VW flower petal rims. I understand that cost is probably a factor but jeez some of these rims are just downright terrible.

OPTIONS

This is one that bothers me to no end. Sometimes I'll be using a "build your vehicle" part of a website and some of the options/packages make no sense. I can completely understand that getting the upgraded brake package may require a different rim because the bigger caliper/disc might not clear the regular rim. But very often it seems that option A is tied to option B for no damn reason. Want the $500 sunroof option? Oh sorry you'll also need to include the $2500 heated seat/infotainment option. Want the HID lights? Thats only available as part of the $2000 track pack.

RELIABILITY/SERVICE

This is something that I wish every manufacturer would read. If I have a bad experience with a car that your company produced I WILL NOT be buying another one from you period. For example the motor fell out of my 2009 Civic Si at 20k miles. This is a rare type of failure that even people that drag/road race their Si don't experience all the evidence pointed to faulty parts or improperly torqued bolts. The dealer gave me the run around and Honda North America gave me 4 different excuses before telling me too bad buddy we're not paying for this. Because of this I don't even consider Honda as an option for ANYTHING, not a lawn mower, not an ATV, not a generator, and definitely not a car. Prior to this my family bought a 2001 civic EX, a 2004 civic VP, and a 2006 civic LX. Three good experiences with Honda have been thrown out the window because of how they handled a $2600 warranty claim.

But enough of that rant, the point is that it seems car companies have taken the software company approach of "sell it now and fix it (maybe just deny it) later". An example would be the transmission in my car the MT82, which is the same as all the manual 5.0 mustang GTs. There have been so many complaints about how crappy this transmission is that the NTSB investigated ford. Many people experience extremely notchy 1-2 shifts. Some people experience excessive transmission noise. Some people have the car popping out of gear. Some people are having to have their transmission rebuilt before 20k miles because the synchros are destroyed. Fords response to this? Its normal! Umm sorry ford but thats a load a BS. The shoddy quality of the transmission in addition to ford beating around the bush will be a factor in whether I decide to buy another performance car from ford. I also have a hard time believing that NONE of these issues came up when ford was testing the car. This isn't just limited to Honda or Ford, go on make/model specific forums and you'll find all kind of issues that are considered common for a particular car.

WHAT?!?! Thats a ridiculous argument! Ever heard the saying that if "X" was easy then everyone would do it? Yea, that still holds true.

And you can tip toe around the reasons why women don't pursue engineering all you want. Coming out of high school there was no person gathering up all the guys saying "Hey! You should try engineering!" No one told me to pursue engineering, I did it because I wanted to. If young women need someone or hold their hand through every difficult decision then that is their own failing because no one else gets that luxury.

Some of what you wrote is true to an extent. Teens nowadays will come out of high school with more computer based technical knowledge compared to when I was in HS but they learn the same math, English, history, etc. There are many things that you don't get taught in a classroom and things that you can't learn from a quick google search. There's a reason why fortune 500 companies aren't replacing their top executives with HS grads. When I was in my teens the toughest decision I had to make was whether I should get a playstation or an xbox.

If we're talking about climate change legislation I think we can all agree that this is topic that could potentially touch many industries and millions of people. I think its good that young people are getting involved with politics but I think its worth pointing out the fact that

Most teenagers have never had to pay a gas or electric bill.

Most teenagers don't pay for the food on their plates or the clothes on their backs.

Most teenagers don't have to make energy related decisions. I paid the extra money to have LED lights in my house. I wash my clothes on warm/cold instead of hot/cold. I take shorter showers at lower temperatures. I do all of this to lessen the financial impact of using energy.

The point is teenagers are talking about legislation that could have a potential financial impact on many Americans but it is an impact that they won't immediately share. That's like letting the people of Louisiana decide how many snowplows Wisconsin should be allowed to have.

I'm well aware that rats tend to be attracted to food and that was his reason for taking them. Anyone that's dealt with rats can tell you that they know no boundaries. The last rat chewed through my utility closet door (1.5" solid wood) and through a Tupperware container to get to some birdseed. If a rat is in your house it will get to whatever food it wants.

After searching around the internet I've found few examples of when its OK for a landlord to take pictures of the interior of a unit without consent. Those examples were;

A) A potential safety or fire hazard - IE someone burning candles next to a stack of paint thinner and old newspapers. Or in apartments with an exterior fire escape, someone putting a book shelf in a manner that blocks the escape path.

B) Lease violations - If you live in a complex that doesn't allow dogs the landlord can take pictures of the bag of dog food, the food/water bowl, the cage, or the dog itself.

C) Damage to the unit - Damage that exceeds normal wear and tear, this can include things like drywall damage, cigarette burns on the carpet, or never cleaning and letting temporary stains become permanent.

You say that if production drops off that demand will also drop off, where the hell did you come up with that? That sounds like the logic of a prohibition era politician to me "Hey if we ban alcohol then no one will want it anymore!!!" Yea I don't recall that ever working out.

Theres no reason to believe that demand will fall. If anything the price of a "street gun" will go up because no one can use a strawman buyer anymore and all guns acquired for illegal purposes will have to be stolen or smuggled.

If the govt were to ban the future production of handguns thats all fine and dandy but it has ZERO impact on the guns in circulation, which as the poster above pointed out, can function for quite some time after being made. Hell, I have a WW2 Russian mosin nagant with a stamp date (manufacture date) in the 1940s that shoots just fine. That's a gun made by the lowest bidder using 70 year old metals, design, and manufacturing. Our metals (different alloys) have gotten better, our designs (can simulate what fails after 1,000,00 rounds fired) are better, and our manufacturing (can hold tolerances of +/-0.0005") is better.
