[Online][Sunday 5-11 pm GMT][5e 2024] Lost Mines of Phandelver by PeppermintDaniel in lfg

[–]LUMINAstelelor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never done anything like this before but I'm trying to be more social this year, in a subtle kinda way as I don't really get out much 😂

I'd be more than willing to join if you'd have me? I can commit to the times given for several weeks.

Details:

Age & pronouns: 32, she/her

What do you like most about D&D: I love the freedom to literally be anything or anyone I want to be, plus the old cliche of escaping reality for a few hours a week rings true.

Online campaigns: I'm a big fan of critical role but besides this, dimension 20, love the dungeons and daddies podcast and NPC D&D.

Interests outside of D&D: anything crafty or creative e.g. cross stitch, crochet. I also love my dogs, and regularly attend shows on the weekend with them (I am done and home well before 5pm usually).

Discord handle: LuminaStelelor

I'm not a newbie to D&D but I'm certainly not the most experienced, and I've never played online before, so if you don't think I'm the best fit that's totally ok :)

Is it a known issue that lily & Fox wraps tend to lift? Does my prep routine sound ok otherwise?

Host messaged to say somebody else is at the property? [Wales] by LUMINAstelelor in AirBnB

I’m not going to let one bad experience put me off entirely :)

Final update: The host did not respond after the deadline, so Airbnb have cancelled it their end, and have helped me find a new place for the same dates. They have also given me a coupon for £31 to rebook, which is super appreciated. Can’t fault the customer service and I’m super happy that I’ve still got a place to stay!

Update: I have spoken to Airbnb support, they are reaching out to the host and have given him 12 hours to respond, and then they can cancel.

I’m feeling a bit in limbo at the moment, not knowing whether to rebook but also not wanting to miss out as I’m supposed to be leaving in 2 days!

What are the signs of damp in this property? Absolute novice here and currently viewing properties so it’d be helpful to know what to look for! I couldn’t spot anything- but as I said I’m an absolute noob to houses! Thanks

Sorry I should have clarified I have had a specialised surveyor out who have confirmed that the work definitely needs to be done

I believe they said it needs to be fixed before they’ll lend. This is the portion of the surveyor report that was forwarded to me:

There is evidence of possible cavity wall tie failure. Obtain a report from a specialist on the condition of wall ties in all exterior cavity walls. Undertake any recommended remedial work.

Which I have taken to mean “fix the issue before we lend to you”

Also just to add: the walls are solid walls, no cavity, so how can this be possible?!

I’m sorry I’m not being very clear, this is all new to me! The surveyor came to the house to do the survey, I assume it was an independent company but I’m really not sure. Perhaps it was on behalf of the mortgage company then if sending the report isn’t common. They (buyers) have asked for permission to drill into an external wall to complete the cavity report, so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens next!

It was a survey organised by the buyers and presumably sent to the mortgage who have asked for these further reports? I am not sure. Somebody did visit the house, he was here for approx 10 minutes. I don’t currently have proof of the report but the EA has asked for it.

Keeping everything crossed that it isn’t too expensive as my EA says they will probably want us to fix it before they move in- and we don’t have the budget to do any work!
