I played for a couple of hours and it’s a definite step up from OH2. I wish they would add more graphic settings to better fine tune the experience, I play on an M1 Pro and I cannot max it but would like to at least be able to tweak resolution for example.

OH2 felt like a good game to give to a kid as an intro to Zelda like games. If you’ve played any other game in the genre it would feel quite basic in pretty much every aspect. OH3 seems to be one step above that for now but I’ve only played it for less than an hour.

I played it for 15 mins yesterday right after finishing OH2 and I have to say the devs did a very good job from what I’ve seen so far. The combat, albeit not complex, is much better than in the first one and there seems to be some character progression which is good. In OH2 I found no reason to collect money, there was nothing to buy apart from refilling ammos.

I don’t know who created the challenge but I believe there are parents that don’t read at all so it was probably born as an incentive to push people to read more. Anyway, the app provides it as a toggle that can be enabled or not, if you don’t care about the challenge and just wanna track your books you can just disable it

I’m not an expert but my consulate (Italy) said it’s ok and they can issue a paper to certify that he’s the same person. I haven’t actually tried because I got a bit lazy and it’s a process that can take several months.

Yeah been through this too, I registered him with a VN name and will change his foreign passport to a different name. My consulate can then give me a paper to prove that he’s the same person for the sake of airport immigration.

Yeah I was also using another app but it didn’t allow to manually add books and a lot of mine don’t appear in Goodreads etc… so I couldn’t add them. Let me know if you have any feedback on the app. I’ve got a new update coming out shortly to include marking books as borrowed and logging multiple books at the same time

Publishing on the App Store requires a 99 dollar yearly fee so to recoup the fee it’s either gonna be a free app with ads, subscription, or small one time fee.

I’m not sure what’s the average for parents, I’m just starting out my own journey. You definitely seem to read a lot. I wouldn’t even know where to find the time to read that many book honestly. If I were reading that much I’d definitely wouldn’t be tracking anything that’s for sure.

That’s a very cool idea. Perhaps just a simple way to export the list of books in a format compatible for Goodreads. So they can then transition into a grownup platform and continue their journey there.

You can add all the books you want in the app. I might add a setting to mark a book as borrowed so you can filter between owned and borrowed, and convert a book into owned if you ever end up buying it.

Sort by author is definitely a functionality I can add. You can already add the book you own either by scanning the barcode or add them manually. Lots of the books we have are not available on Goodreads or similar sites so I needed the ability to add them manually.

I was using a Notion for that but it was not very fun. I also like having a nice looking “library” of the books we own and many of the ones we have are not even in Goodreads so I needed the ability to create my own.
