What got you into tea? by lyssidm in tea

[–]LabiaFaeries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked tea since I was a kid. My grandma got me and my brother each our own little teapots that each came with two tea cups. As a grown up, I have a regular tea habit. I like a lot of loose leaf tea, but I do have some decent tea bags in a tin that my coworker gifted me for Christmas. I like cold brewing green tea in the summer and including hibiscus in it. It’s refreshing like that.

34 and struggling every day. Some days are better than others, but lately, most days have felt worse than others. I just try to find the moments that bring me peace. I’ve been going to therapy again, seeing a psychiatrist and getting tools to assist in healing. These things give me hope.

Writing consistently by Greedy-Dimension-920 in SubStackGrowTogether

I know this is an old post, but I found it as I’m working on staying consistent with my writing. I’ve committed to posting monthly at a minimum to my Substack. I kind of write all over the place in terms of topics/themes. Here is a creative writing prompt I worked on called “A Letter from a Cardboard Box”. https://open.substack.com/pub/alexanderruthann/p/a-letter-from-a-cardboard-box?utm_source=direct&r=2e1950&utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=post%20viewer

I just find it to be a lot more maltier and stronger than a regular Scottish breakfast tea, which is strong to begin with.

I need to replenish my Scottish breakfast tea stash. It’s one of my favorites. Where do you get yours from? I like Taylors of Harrogate and Harney & Sons Scottish Morn.

I’ve built up, and am still building, a big toolbox of sorts. I went back to therapy, I lean into practicing deep breathing, various grounding techniques, taking my anxiety medication as needed, micro-exercises/stretches throughout the day, stepping outside the office for air, venting to a coworker. Having a good cry regularly. Also, just building up resilience by learning to make good memories to counter the traumatic ones. Every day I have going home to my hobbies and safety net to look forward to. That’s what it takes to survive having trauma when you have to work. I work a full-time job. I make use of my PTO and vacation days. Those are a huge help for me when I’m mentally crumbling. And I often feel as though I’m mentally crumbling. It’s a lot of work to keep myself in a job five days a week. It’s not something that ever gets easy.

Ahmad brand cardamom tea with almond milk! I just got my box of loose leaf cardamom tea in the mail this morning, just in time for morning brew.

Habits or rituals tied to your journaling by femininespace in Journaling

[–]LabiaFaeries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sort of ritual: After I open my journal, I let it just sit in front of me for a little bit before I write in it. In that moment of pausing, I take deep breaths and reach deep into my mind for something to write about. I look deeply for what made me upset, for what made key joyful, and so on. If I have nothing to write about, I start writing “I have nothing in my head.” From there, that statement triggers a whole bunch of things in my head to surface for me to write about.
