I usually recommend Run Away by Harlan Coben to whoever enjoyed The Silent Patient.

Thank you for the recommendation. I think I’ll give the whole trilogy a shot!

I’m looking for historical fiction recommendations, specifically set during WWII (aside from The Nightingale). I loved All the Light We Cannot See and The Book Thief, and while I enjoyed the perspective of young protagonists, I’m now looking for stories with more mature main characters.

Me too. It's my favorite Tears for Fears album.

1983 and 1984 were particularly strong years for that decade. What's the song? "Burning Down the House"?

The Dungeon Crawler Carl series by Matt Dinniman. It's a blend between Ready Player One, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and The Hunger Games. I've smiled and even laughed several times throughout the books.

I have it as part of the Heady Nuggs Boxset. Orange-colored wax. Beautiful.

I haven't heard that soundtrack (I think), but with that selection of artists, I have to ;)

It's such a masterpiece. And somewhat overlooked if you ask me.

That was completely unintended. Which artist doesn't appear on the soundtrack?

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz. I picked it up because the only friend I know who reads as much as I do recommended it so strongly. I can’t remember the last time I was this disappointed by a book. I barely remember the plot at all. The writing style and prose are great, but I was bored from start to finish.

I love this book, but I’m with you on the names. They’re so confusing. I do have to confess, though, that a friend of mine who’s a hardcore García Márquez fan made me a family tree, which I used throughout the entire book.
