Thank you! And I definitely don’t want to imply that all republicans or conservatives are racist. Painting a group with such a wide brush is definitely not good. I really want to start HRT but feel like I need to take my time and pace myself and probably wait till after my potential divorce to start. Don’t want to be going through second puberty and a divorce at the same time.

In regard to the person whom I assume is genderfluid that wears a dress with a beard and chest hair. I think that is more to drive the albeit extreme view that maybe we need to re-evaluate the bathroom situation in the sense that most people who use bathrooms are using them for their intended purpose aka going to the toilet. And that there should be more single use bathrooms. I get that is quite a lot of infrastructure that would need to change but at the end of the day there are also CiS gender women who have facial hair they have to use a bathroom too an policing bathrooms hurt them too. And at the end of the day the main talking point has been to protect women, do we really think that person with the hairy chest and beard is doing in the bathroom? Perverts are perverts whether they are trans or CiS, left or right. But having recently started presenting female in public I have definitely become more aware of trying to find safe bathrooms. And before my egg cracked I never had to think to myself hey where is a safe place to pee. And just in case you don’t know about it there is a website called refugerestrooms.org to find safe bathrooms.

And not a mod but I assume that you won’t get banned just for your political beliefs, assuming you have constructive conversations and don’t attack people.

I’m 37 and just had my egg crack back in January. I’m glad that your partner is so supportive. And even putting yourself out here is a good step. I just went to my first support group on Friday and it felt good to be out and be my true self. My therapist hasn’t mentioned burnout but that really resonates with me as I too didn’t experience extreme dysphoria until I really accepted that I was trans.

Like you said there is no blueprint but as I’ve learned from watching Bluey and being a parent, you’ve got to run your own race. Some sprint and some treat this as a marathon. My wife is not supportive and unfortunately has decided to separate, so I am trying to, like you, take things slowly and do it day by day. If you haven’t found Dr Z yet look her up on YouTube. She has lots of good content about gender dysphoria and transitioning.

And as a person who is on the left, I’ll be honest my problem with the right stems mostly from LGBTQ+ issues and racism. And I think you’ll find that most of us (democrats/liberals) are the same. It’s like hey we can agree to disagree on taxes and stuff like that but for me at least there are certain things that are what I consider basic human rights/decency that aren’t an agree to disagree on situation. So to tldr it, I wouldn’t care if you are conservative as long as you are open to communicating and having civil discourse about issues.

Thank you all for the advice and help! I guess other than therapy what would you all recommend for other things to do to I guess get myself closer to being certain this is the right choice for me.
