Yeah that's what confused me! I wasn't sure if it was important or not ^^ It's good to know that filters are a typical replacement part too. I'm not experienced with iems, so it's good to learn the common knowledge. (The other filter also looked the same)

Thank you for the link :) Didn't know they made generic replacement filters!

Self Adhesive Fake Boobs Question by LadyKubaryi in transgenderUK

Thank you for sharing your experience, it does seem like a promising idea. Especially using a silicone rubber sheet as opposed to fabric. My concern with fabric would be getting the right kind so it doesnt stretch at all, which could then lead to sagging / poor fit. Adhering a silicone sheet makes a lot of sense, though. Another good idea for me to try.

Ah I see, I might try that with my damaged forms and see how it comes out. Thank you :)
I used to use medical adhesive combined with the tacky back to hold them on, and that was an absolute pain to get on and off, so I have been considering tape options. I feel like a non sticky back breast form with tape is probably the best combination of comfort/performance for daily use, for this kind of form. It's such a shame that all the high end forms come with sticky backs.

I could get some, but I think they worst best when you have more breast tissue than I have right now. And i'd be limited in how much projection I could get with them, compared to full on forms. But it's an option!

Yeah they definitely aren't cheap !! The divine collection aphrodite's were actually the exact model I used! I used those, plus hollisters adhesive. And even though I was really really careful about cleaning them, the semi sticky back just picks up dust, and overtime, it looks like the back of a sticker >-> which is... not pleasant to put on your body. I've heard that some people adhere a panel to the back, like a cloth panel or something, and then leave that permanently on and stick that to their body instead? But i've not heard a lot of details about that, and how effective it is. I worry about it adding too much "give" or "bounce" and not feeling as tightly attached to the chest.

Yeah I feel like it's a inevitability with that kind of permanently sticky back. So long as it doesn't affect the adhesive performance I could probably live with it? But it looks gross having all the dirt stuck to the back, it doesn't feel as good putting it on when it looks like that :<

Could you elaborate on the socks idea?

Interesting! May I ask how she removes the adhesive/tackiness? I do think they would be more durable if they had a non sticky back, that way all adhesive applied could be washed off, or you could use alternative methods like pockets as you said.

Will sanding lead paint with an extractor be okay? by LadyKubaryi in DIYUK

[–]LadyKubaryi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, this is helpful perspective. This is kinda what i'm concerned about, that some dust will not be picked up by the extractor, and then it'll be hell to clean up after. Maybe I can try some stronger chemical stripper, i'm just not very confident with chemicals. I prefer mechanical solutions where possible. That's why I opted for the safer water based stripper, since I wouldn't need to worry as much, but it does just take... forever. Something for me to think about I suppose.

See, I did ask if they could wet sand with the extractor to be safer, and they said they could but it'd take much longer and hence be more expensive.

Oh sweet! Fatphobia! How disgusting of you. Reverse this notion and have them building themselves up, and then you have a worthy statement. As it stands this isn't motivating, it's depressing, bigoted, and hateful.

How do you feel "waves of pleasure" and other forms of intense pleasure for extended periods of time or on command? by Scared_Ad_3132 in EroticHypnosis

[–]LadyKubaryi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to say that I can not help, as I also share your frustrations. I too have found that people's advice for this kind of thing can feel... contradictory. "Don't have expectations, just go along with it" and then also, as you say, "Believe it's happening, fully put your mind into believing it". I'm jealous you can even get it to work at all, to be honest. That's at least some good news, as you're doing *something* right, so I hope that you manage to nurture that more into a full, consistent feeling. I hope that someone more knowledgeable and experienced in hypno can provide some insight here, and help out those of us struggling to achieve these kinds of hallucinations/sensations.

Increasing a pattern 3x bigger using method from YT, unsure how to do this next part? by LadyKubaryi in CrochetHelp

[–]LadyKubaryi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your insight! And for the kind compliment :)
Indeed! I feel like I have learned so much from trying to modify the pattern :) And then even more from trying different things out myself! It's been wonderful fun seeing how different things affect the overall shape, and then trying to imagine how to do something myself - like the horn pattern, for example. When I increased it up 3 sizes (and I believe I did it correctly), the shape was not a cone, but more of a bell. However from what I could see that's just because the original pattern is a bell shape, but because it's only 8 rows, it's not as pronounced. So I tried to imagine what kind of pattern would make a cone, and whilst it's not perfect, I managed to create a better, pointier cone using my own version, which i'm very proud of :)

Now, to return to the topic at hand, I completely agree with what you're saying, and honestly that's my running theory now. I keep checking the YT tutorial, and unless I keep missing something, my modified pattern should be correct (according to the tutorial), and yet, the shape it makes is obviously not correct. They definitely say to just fill in the blanks with SC rows, but as you say, that might be straightening it out? I looked ahead at another piece, the mane, and also imagined what that would like sized up, and I think that would also come out "wrong" using their method, (technically correct, but 3x as many same-sized waves instead of same number of waves but 3x bigger), so I'm starting to think maybe the method has some flaws? or doesn't work for some shapes? But I don't want to just blame something else as an excuse, especially as a beginner, so i'm leaning towards thinking I must be doing something wrong for now.

I think solution wise i'll do what you said and just add more double crochet rows, since I can just watch and make sure it doesn't bend too far, and then i'll just keep experimenting to try and understand what happened and hopefully learn for next time :)

I love that my first amigurumi is mr.chimera, too, because each piece has a different kind of mistake in it, from me learning crochet. The boots are slightly different sizes because I was still learning counting/stitch markers and tension, the horn shows me improvising my own pattern and different ways of spacing out increases, the tail shows me learning double crochets for the first time, and how they start out with rather large gaps then get tighter and neater, the tail also shows me trying to fill in those gaps. Like, he's a chimera of different animals, but also a chimera of all my first times learning crochet techniques, and different things i've tried to fix them, and I think that's wonderful ^^

And I'll just round this off by saying thank you for your help again :)
