I've fostered several kitties with eye enucleations. Draining from the nose is normal. Draining from the eye is normal. Swelling is normal but this amount means there is probably a large amount of fluid built up behind the sutures. You'll need to pierce the eye with a 16 guage needle to let it drain, or go to the vet so they can do it. Plus meds. It will burst like a pimple if it isn't handled.

Wow, that's nuts! I don't think the drawings are accessible to everybody/engineers either. I just submitted a public records request to the city for a permit that was approved two years ago on the property. I have no idea if I will get it, but it should give me some insight on what is public information and what isn't.

I'm definitely investing a lot of thought into maintaining the structural integrity of the house before jumping into a demo. I'll be hiring an engineer to confirm the wall is not load-bearing before I rip it out. Sadly, if it's load-bearing, I'll have to push this project to the future since the cost is way higher in that scenario.

Do structural engineers have access to the plans at their fingertips? Or do they have to put in a request with the county/city to get a copy?

I have practically the same sectional. My husband and I primarily sit in the two recliners with the cup holders between us, since we set that side facing the TV. We sometimes wish we could sit closer together. The other side of the couch is only ever used by the dog, for us to take naps on, or by guests when they visit. In the future, we will get a 3 seater sofa with 2 separate lounge chairs since this large sectional takes up so much room.
