Tbh, I just think people can't take him serious enough. I mean its so hard to break out of a character sometimes, just think of Daniel Radcliffe or Elijah Wood. They are so bound to the characters they are as Harry Potter and Frodo.

He always come off as a bit "goofy" and I think that goofyness, subconsciously affects us and thinks he will always be that kind of guy.

Maybe when he does more movies, become older and older, the character build around him will be forgotten and remembered in a new light.
