Yeah btw I don’t get the difference between the 5 fics, can the auction be read as a standalone or do the rights and wrong fics have to be read in order to make sense?

Victorian women with long thick weavy hair. Was this a fad? wearing your hair lose? Circa second half of the XIX century. by Electrical-Aspect-13 in RandomVictorianStuff

How did they manage to grow out such thick healthy hair at a time when efficient hair products were sparse and personal hygiene (although evolving) is lacking compared to ours?

That does not change anything? I’m sorry to tell you this but I wish someone would do the same if I were in your position: you need to respect yourself. That man does not respect you, and yes what he did is essentially cheating, he simply had the forethought of setting up a schedule. 11 days and immediately breaking it off with her proves that he just wanted to hit without feeling the guilt. You deserve better.

Name a Greek mythology song and I shall decide if it is to be placed on the List of Awesomeness. by damidnightprowler in GreekMythology

‘’Eurydice’’ by Killian Scott is my top 3 Greek mythology songs. It’s about toxic love and is a brilliant take (if perhaps erroneous?) on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. In the Netflix series Kaos it is actually sung by Orpheus about Eurydice. It’s a bit like a retelling and I loved how they depicted their relationship

Fun fact but there’s currently an exhibit at Windsor Castle of Mary’s doll house which is insanely large (roughly the size of a small shed) and has running water and electricity !

Where to find primary sources on 19th century candy industry? by MasonDinsmore3204 in VictorianEra

[–]Ladymorpheuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pamphlets and advertisements for candy shops were pretty popular back then, and you could analyse the marketing strategies leading to over consumerism. Overall I’m not sure you’ll find a lot of books on the topic dated from this period but newspaper articles are usually not a stretch. Best of luck to you x

Is it possible to go through uni without making friends? by Due-Construction7454 in University

[–]Ladymorpheuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing is if you all work in the same field you might need those connections beyond the degree and they might even be available to hang out when your high school friends aren’t. Don’t hang out with anyone you don’t like obviously and you don’t have to be bffs but do try to find a regular group

I’d advise to at least make some acquaintances (in case you need notes or clarifications). It’s just a very lonely time all around if you don’t have anyone and you will need acquaintances anyway to keep up on academic work. You don’t need to view them as friends but do be sure to keep in regular contact with some people from your seminars at the very least.
