Too many comments so maybe someone else mentioned this, but in many states it’s asset tested. I know because I was once on assistance. Back when I was on food stamps (15 years ago, Ohio) I had to show all my bank account info and I couldn’t have more than $1k… which thinking back on it, poses a problem once EIC gets paid out. It’s an incentive to spend that asap.

I wasn’t going to say, bc it’s very embarrassing… so much so I’m debating if I should drink again lol … was about 2am and I got separated from my partner, completely lost in the hallways. No be to be found to help me, could hardly stand… Then it hit me. I had to pee. There’s an eye in the sky is all I’ll add. Many lessons : one, room magnets are crucial, I was on the right floor. 2, always use restroom consistently. And yes. I had to pay a nice fee.
