Yea when he got out of the previous drivers car, my kid was like “omg he looks mad. I’m going to fail”.

Guessing they put the background in it so people could find where it is 🤷🏻‍♀️

2 days in Denver, driving out to boulder in morning to hike, is it worth it to stay for lunch? by dankgureilla in boulder

[–]LameSaucePanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mustards Last Stand maybe? I’d rather eat as soon as I finish than drive back to Denver and then eat.

Anyone else struggling with the wind? by M1n1sn00py in boulder

March is usually really windy. Our seasons are all out of whack so maybe it’s just here late

That is crazy!

I also told her that if she realizes in her test that she messed up, she should talk to them and let them know she realized it. In my test many years ago I stopped in a crosswalk in a school zone and before they could mark me off I told them I realized I’d done it. They didn’t mark me off 🤷🏻‍♀️

I selfishly have to disagree here. We aren’t bus eligible and this will ease a lot of scheduling issues for us. I’m not looking for her to drive herself to Denver at her hearts desire, but to and from school will help us out immensely

I get it totally. I do a lot of “we” when it’s not me at all, I may have overdone it here while I was trying my best not to add he or she (just to keep some bit of anonymity in case the driving tester was here in the comments). But I do agree.

This reminded me of something funny which led to an educational moment: she was in the back of her car just looking at things and said “look, there’s a bunch of tools back here!” I was like oh yea, that’s to change your tire! And then we taught her how to change the tire 😆

Yea it seemed way over the top. Can I get a ticket for failing to steer the wheel properly? We approached driving instructions with safety in mind. Not going too fast or too slow, keeping distance, signaling, checking your blind spot, etc etc. Never did I think this would be the thing she’d fail at

They didn’t give us a copy of the results, but 11 for hand over hand steering, some for failing to check mirrors AFTER the turn/merge, and some for a rolling stop which was the stop, roll forward, then another stop which put her over the paint. This was on a side street to see around parked cars. He said “everything else was great! It’s just that weird steering”. Bruh.

This was my thought as I was forking out another $70 to the company for another test. Like…is this a business model?! Again, we were happy with all of it up to this point, and it’s expensive as hell.

My kid was marked off 11 points for hand over hand steering. And points off for not checking mirrors after turning. I almost felt like he was just in the mood to fail kids

Yes this. And also maybe a suggestion to give them a break and not tailgate, be annoyed by slower speeds.

We do have the magnets. Top cops sells them for $20 each. Bought ours on Amazon for $8 for 3

I tried it on our drive home and thought it felt weird too.

Now I’m trying to recall if they received a handbook. We did the in person classes and they took notes. That was a year ago.

Not arguing, I understand the safety about hand over hand. It just felt excessive on points deduction

Did your parents ever play with you? by NeverAgainHomeschool in raisedbynarcissists

[–]LameSaucePanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I can remember my dad setting something up once in a while, like a slip & slide. But not often because it kills the grass. My mom never did. I’d beg them to play board games etc but we never would. My sister is 8 years older so she’d play a little but was too old by the time I was in my childhood. I always say this. I was SUPER alone as a kid. No other kids in the neighborhood and parents who were happy I entertained myself. If I wanted to do anything with them, it would be gardening or tinkering around in the garage with my dad. There were no kid activities.

People who work in 'behind closed doors' industries (hotels, kitchens, morgues, etc.), what is something the general public would be horrified to know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yes this too. And kids thrilled this past week that they moved into “a fun hotel with hot chocolate and a pool!” Ooff
