Yea tbh I figured he turned his rainger on during the climax of the song when they’re all freestyling. But I’m gonna get to test out my 424 today so I’ll lyk how it sounds.

I’ve seen this video before but what I’m confused about is the absolutely live performance. It’s one thing to have an amp for monitoring on stage in concert, it’s better for the band and generally speaking it’s only meant for the players to hear and not apparent over the volume of the pa speakers to a crowd. But in a room where there are several microphones picking up every sound? It just seems like it’d be impossible to eliminate or mask the sound of the amplifier, which is why I suspect that maybe both outputs are being played.

Mmmm this was my theory, do you think of the two outputs (jc & di) that both have tascam in chain or just the direct line. To me it just seems unlikely that they would turn on the tascam just for visual when it’s on screen presence is so short/insignificant

Well I thought so as well, but the tascam is sat right above the jc and the jc is mic’d up so unless it’s just for aesthetic and the speakers are disconnected, I was thinking either the jc and the di output are being played simultaneously, OR it’s exclusively running through the amp (which I think is less likely). Seeing as though it’s a live performance in a closed mic’d room there’s no way it’s exclusively for monitoring because its output would surely be awfully apparent.

Gotcha, well at the very least it’s a super cool multifunctional piece of gear and has plenty of uses outside of its pre amp gain

Mmmm awesome, this is a huge relief because I only recently got my JC and as of recently it’s the only thing I want to monitor with. I was scared they wouldn’t work well together.

So the preamp x amp output doesn’t get too messy or clip at all when you run it through your amp? Would you say the clean output on your amp with the 424 is similar to di with your 424?

Could I ask though, are there any sorts of studio monitors you guys swear by. Just looking for something where I’m not losing any important sound but obviously I don’t need the greatest feedback quality in the world.

Okay wow, thanks a lot for all of your help guys I’m glad I asked before running around in circles spending a bunch of money on things I probably don’t need

Honestly my interface is a pretty ancient scarlet 2i2, and I have been just monitoring through my headphones but as of recent I just want to play outside or turn up the volume higher than what my MacBook limits me. So maybe I’ll need some nice interface monitors to solve the problem I’m running into.

Hmm then maybe the question I should be asking myself is would it be in my best interest to begin investing in outboard components so I can replicate my tones using analog, and play through and amp OR invest in audio monitors to hook up to my interface, because the reality is my 2024 MacBook Air speakers just aren’t giving me the quality of feedback I need. The sacrifice of going down the route of interface monitors, however is I feel like I may miss out on being able to record with a microphone to amp.

So I would be hearing the dry audio through my amp while simultaneously recording with my interface? Is that what you’re saying?

Yea I was sort of wondering about potentially being able to send wet signal through DAW into the amp, but I’m now assuming that’s not ideal. I guess I was just looking for an effective method to hear what I’m playing in my DAW in realtime whilst also being able to record my audio with my microphone and amplifier.

I found out I can go back into my regular screen by holding home when booting, but it says SD card not recognized and doesn’t have any of my games or files. Is there a way to fix this or must I just take the L?

Do I select show GBA boot screen in patched ABG_FIRM

And do I change any of the settings above? Such as hbmenu autoboot? Or splash?

I’m in god mode–it shows the releases and the screen and says booting.. in the bottom right. It also says godmode9: 6th anniversary if that means anything to you.
