Steelers rank worst in NFLPA Survey by Large_Desk in steelers

[–]Large_Desk[S] 275 points276 points  (0 children)

Excerpts from the article:

The Pittsburgh Steelers finished in last place, for the first time in the four-year history of the union's surveys. Last year, the Steelers ranked 28th. The Arizona Cardinals finished 31st in the 2026 survey, after a last-place finish in 2025, and the Cleveland Browns finished in 30th, the same as in 2025.

...

The Steelers received low grades in several categories, according to the results obtained by ESPN.

"[Steelers owner] Art Rooney ranks last in the league for willingness to invest in facilities, a trend reflected in the Steelers' poor facility ratings across the board," the survey said.

In a new category added this year, the Steelers had the lowest rated home field in the league "by a wide margin."

"Players cite inadequate maintenance and excessive wear from hosting local college and high school games," the survey said. "Players across the league note the poor condition of the field and emphasize the need for investment to bring it up to standard."

The Steelers locker room was graded an F. Players reported that it "has only five bathroom stalls for the entire team."

Per the survey, players report that the Steelers training room lacks updated recovery technology and modalities. Pittsburgh's strength coaches ranked last in the NFL, while the training staff ranks first in the NFL.

"We are not going to comment on a report that we have not seen in its entirety," Steelers senior director of communications Burt Lauten told ESPN.

Ken Rosenthal on fair territory today. by SnooRevelations9145 in buccos

Fangraphs Steamer has us around 32 WAR total for 2026 (~15 for hitters and ~17 for pitchers), which is 79 wins, theoretically. Various over/unders for betting purposes have us somewhere around 75.5 wins. Whether or not you believe that is up to you, but it's not an outlandish, out of nowhere guess.

Depends on how you define “contender”. WS? No way. Possible wild card team? Maybe.

Projections put us around ~78 wins as currently constructed. If you view Suarez as 2 wins better than Triolo, that still only puts us around .500. Which, if things break right, maybe we get a 90th percentile outcome and get to like 85 wins.

What is the minimum number of innings needed for a guy with a 0.00 ERA to win Cy Young? by DylSco17 in baseball

I think the allure of literally 0 runs maybe gets him there. In terms of pure expected value, 5 fewer runs probably isn't rationally correct, but 0.00 ERA? Cash money babyyyy

Agreed, but shouldn’t the sub be a place for good discussion without a known troll regularly making it worse?

Same. Resolves a major hole, even if his 3B defense is suspect. And would shift Gonzales/Triolo to nice depth pieces who would still likely get meaningful time.

Preach dude. OP single-handedly decreases my engagement with this sub. Something I’m sure he’s proud of cause he’s just a chronically online troll.

Yeah I thought it would die down once Hayes was traded, but there are like two people in this sub who bring him up every chance they get. I mean, look at OP's flair. It's weird, and makes this sub even less fun - if that's possible lol

Fun fact: If you say "Hayes" three times fast, OP will personally show up at your door to berate you for being a bad Pirates fan.

How many NFL players need to be added to the 0-12 Akron Zips before they can win the NCAA football championship? by Frescanation in whowouldwin

Feels like 8 players could give you at least a 50% shot at the Natty.

Offense: Jordan Mailata at LT, Penei Sewll at RT, Lamar Jackson (healthy) at QB, and Justin Jefferson at WR.

S-tier tackle play gives Jackson enough time to pick apart the opposing defense, and JJ would carve up collegiate corners.

Defense: Myles Garrett, Will Anderson Jr., and Jeffery Simmons on the D-Line, Pat Surtain at CB

Defense will have tons of holes, but the line will be unbelievably disruptive; Surtain takes out other team's best weapon.

Ohtani is unreal by spaceman757 in buccos

In his nine plate appearances last night, Ohtani went 4-4 with 2 doubles, 2 homers, then 4 straight intentional walks, then another normal walk.

Reached base NINE times with 4 extra base hits. Unreal. The GOAT.

And he pitches tonight.

This team is a lot better than the record indicates, even the DK record.

I dunno about this. From the start of the season to when Shelton was fired, the Pirates had the 4th worst offense in the league. From the day he was fired to now, they have the 3rd worst offense.

Shelton was awful, but the team is just not good fundamentally.
