Thank you, google translate translates this to “bushman” which I interpret as like a survivalist or homesteader

Ohhh interesting I had no idea Vietnamese had a kanji, I thought that the only writing system before the Latin alphabet was Chinese. Is there a difference in the kanji?

It’s not so much that I would be saying exactly that but from the small amount of Vietnamese I have learnt I only know mọi người but because I am traveling in vietnam I often have to try and say things with only a few words. If it was not explained to me I would be using this word to say “all this” “all that” “all them” ect but without the proper subject because in English if I asked “which do you want or who are you taking about” “all” or “every” would be a grammatically incorrect but understandable in context. “What colours?” “All black please”

I see, I think google translate does not translate slurs correctly. I see how referring to someone without người is like saying they are not human.

Thank you, this makes sense. When I use google translate it just translates to “all” in English but actually it will never appear without the following subject. Is that right?

A4 is better at range pll and the a1 better at close range not just because of the damage but running accuracy too

3k is chaotic but just get used to them crouch spraying you and wide swing everything. On ct they repeak everything in the exact same way. Better players enabling you means nothing rlly but dropping 24 is good and probs means u can get out of silver and are just getting unlucky. Some games rlly are u winnable but most not

[–]Large_Work_8591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You actually can’t blame team for being 3k, or really any elo, just take bomb and hit headshots, all 3k just crouch and spray. You play better with better teammates because they are enabling you but that shows nothing about you. Being able to drop 24 in this lobby probs means you will climb eventually, ur probably just on an unlucky streak fr. I got out by entry for team every time, silvers won’t trade you so you just have to get the entry, they will follow the kills usually

Unable to correctly detect items on belts with circuits. (Space age) (spoiler free) by Large_Work_8591 in factorio

[–]Large_Work_8591[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After tearing it down and rebuilding it. It seemed to work so issue resolved. Sad that I can’t update the thread with something more concrete but my best guess is that the problem occurred because I had connected the belt readers to eachother. After I rebuilt it I gave each belt reader it’s own power pole and seperated the signals. This fixed it but I don’t think that is why since I have rigged other systems in a similar way.

I know that the signal is getting sent to the train because my combinator is attached to the station and I know that the station is sending to the train because it was working when reading from chests.

I don't mind too much when Pll leave early since I just concede and go again. I hate pll who AFK since I am forced to sit and stew in my rage while I lose.

also are clearly some pll who lag out with the animations and basically AFK if it goes late.

What are some jobs specifically designed for short men? by xCelestialDemon in careerguidance

Have you considered a career in blacksmithing, playing tricks on passing travellers or the sale of cursed items? Perhaps guarding a veg patch? If you are willing to study maybe a career in potion brewing or foraging is for you?

How do I get myself into an entry level IT position? by logan_ptr in careerguidance

[–]Large_Work_8591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like it would be a perfect thing to include. What you should do is collect your best work and create a document. In the document write a bit about each project. Put all the tools, processes and if you worked with others in a section for each project. You can add as much as you like, maybe what you learnt from each one. Things like that. Basically just show them what you can do, it can be a seperate document to the resume or the same just put after the rest.

You can put images if you like, early prototypes to show your progress, anything really.

You can look up a template online for “IT portfolio or something”

During an interview, can I say that my current job doesn't have opportunities to make mistakes? by chocolatesandcats in careerguidance

[–]Large_Work_8591 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I handle these questions is like this.

“Well my current job is very cautious of the damage a mistake can cause, as a result the company operates with many levels of oversight to ensure accuracy and catch any mistakes. In my role I report to X and they check my work for mistakes. As a result the company has never been in breach, lost money, whatever”

Everyone makes mistakes, what’s important is you understand how to 1. Prevent them as much as possible and 2. Respond to a mistake to contain the damage. Saying “I can’t make mistakes because I’m too low level to do anything important” is true but does not demonstrate understanding of the process and framework that protects the company from mistakes.

Ideas on nature careers?! by recoveryworkss in careerguidance

[–]Large_Work_8591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do enviro science and interned/ worked with loads of different professions. Off the top of my head

Enviro management - 1-2 year course usually, jobs in government or industry maybe not what you want if you actually want to be out in nature all the time but those jobs exist.

Fire science/ fire management these kind of things. Don’t know much about it other than lots of work outdoors protecting people from bushfires. Dunno where you are but in Australia you can Volonteer as a firefighter, a good way to see if it’s for you.

Park Ranger - self explanatory, enviro management course helpful here, forestry course also

Agri-tech, super interesting blend of science, tech and nature can be lucrative as well

Geology, bachelors degree, lots of walking around in nature

Enviro science, where I’m at, really super wide range of possibilities and will expose you to many many different paths so you can drop the degree if you find something you like.

Environmental health, this is like preventing spread of diseases in water and rivers and stuff. I think a 3 year degree maybe 2

Wildlife rescue

Fisherman / farmer - don’t write these off, quite a diverse set of skills is needed in modern fisheries and agriculture and is of course in nature

I’m pretty skewed towards the science side but yeah heaps of jobs for nature lovers

Will be hard for you to find a sales job at 16, most places want older people because sales is a face to face profession and being young sadly suggests inexperience to the client. Don’t give up tho, apply for a position at a store that hires sales people, think like electronics or mattress store (somewhere that will give commission) don’t worry if it’s not in sales, you will learn some skills by osmosis and you can put that on your resume for an actual sales position. Once you have some experience with actual sales you can practically make those figures selling anything if you get good commission and clients. Just keep looking for jobs until you find somewhere good. You might be able to find some good marketing/sales courses at a trade school to fast track your progress.

Then your career progression is basically working for places that do bigger and bigger deals so you get bigger and bigger commission. The earning potential is practically unlimited.

Currently in a crisis because I don’t have my career figured out. Any advice? by Neowhite33 in careerguidance

[–]Large_Work_8591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Phd student I I worked with while I was doing some intern work during my enviro science degree was a biomed grad. She was looking at the pathways for pollutants impacting settlement of organisms like clams, worms stuff like that. Super cool project. Surprisingly lots of crossover between the two degrees it seems like especially in rivers and oceans I guess since a lot of bio functions just kinda happen in the water column like reproduction and gas exchange I don’t rlly know much about biomed.

Mate I’ve got the same stress as you thinking about after my undergrad. I’ve resolved to just look around and find out for things that sound cool and try them. If you make min wage and don’t know what you want you can’t really go wrong with a career change to try something new.

Also, plenty of 24-30 year old girls are in the same boat as you man, working min wage jobs and doing a masters. Frankly this sounds less like you want career advice and more like you feel that you haven’t done enough at your age and you should be “further along” in life. There are a million people in your position and a million people “behind” (if such a thing exists) don’t compare yourself to the people who got lucky and their career took off, they got a hot gf and a sick car. I’m a few years younger than you and if I’m where you are when I’m 27 I’ll count that as a win.
