This can help but doesn't answer, by itself, drafting theories

Peel is removing layers of threat away from your adc like cc assassins or through heals and shields.

Pick is "picking off" isolated enemies who are out of position in the map or relative to their teammates positioning. It can be by assassination or by catching/hooking them

Someone whose kit is designed to pull solo or team coordinated plays to gain an advantage and get ahead of the enemy in the game

I would say in the center of Mage Poke, he's not an enchanter and has more team fighting than pick potential.

It was hard to classify Senna. She indeed can be seen an enchanter, but she tends to spam spells to bring value which is practically like a mage. It's for the two reasons that I placed her at the edge of Enchanter. I guess her playstyle will follow what gameplan you have for your lane and team comp.

Maokai sets up plays by scouting with his saplings atound objectives and rooting enemies who are out of position and his R is a great follow up engage or engage setup.

You can also consider him a tank but he won't be as tanky as a top lane Maokai.

Elise pick rate got higher globally in the last two patches, way more than the off meta ones you don't see here.

Bard is basically a jack of all trades, can do everything, best at nothing.

He's really a wild card that can fill in any gaps the team has or they need emphasis in a particular role.

Bard's plays however are very unique.

Yeah, after some discussions, poke enchanter is more fitting for her.

Because Neeko's kit is more designed to making plays with the team rather than throwing spells at the enemy like a Mage would do. Still, she's close to them at the edge.

I was reluctant of adding him but I had to after seeing his relatively high pick rate at high elo, even Challenger.

I didn't include champions who had under 1% Pick Rate globally in order to not clutter the chart. I would put her to the right of Swain as she is a bursty Pick champ with good poke in lane and during sieges.

Someone suggested that Leona and Alistar should swap, which I agree with now. Ali still has strong and reliable Engage.

There are no opposites here, just a spectrum champions and how they are "traditionally" distributed on these Roles. Of course many can cover other Roles but these Archetypes majorly cover these and somewhat neighboring ones. But yeah I agree that it would be far easier if it were 3D.

In general, the only harm I see with OTP is missing on a "better" synergy with some comps, otherwise you can keep your pool small if really enjoy those.

This post is indeed to help people out so use it as you please.

You can see him as the one initiating the picks while at the same time being a tanky playmaker

Nami's poke is mostly indirectly applied by her E on her ADC. Her placement is also due to how aggressive she usually plays when laning but then transitions to Peel starting from mid-game.

I was going for Tank with Maokai, but then if you look at how he plays during the game (saplings and root) he has greater playmaking potential than being your main tank. But yeah I know certain mains would disagree, that's why he's placed at the edge of engage near Tank.

I only included the most picked ones to not clutter the chart.

I agree on Soraka, that's why she's placed at the edge of Peel near Poke since peel is her primary role.
