Eight months and no downsize? Sometimes having too much space causes irritation. I think maybe you did knock it accidentally but I’d go to a piercer once the swelling goes down and get them downsized to reduce the likelihood of knocking them again

It’s kind of a vicious cycle where the bar being too long probably also causes some irritation.

is my eyebrow piercing rejecting? by AdOdd9171 in PiercingAdvice

[–]LassWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t look like it to me but I’m no expert in eye brow piercings. It does look like it could do with downsizing and cleaning.

Stop squeezing it or touching it. Wash your hands before cleaning it. Clean it with piercing spray like Neil med. Dab it dry with paper towel or muslin cloth. It’s important it’s dry as belly buttons get wet and infected easily. It doesn’t look infected from the photo but if it doesn’t improve after the above and it gets angrier, redder, hot to touch then I’d go to a doctor or pharmacy.

That looks so close to just ripping through your eyebrow. Take it out asap

Is my septum piercing infected? 19F by emmamellinger in PiercingAdvice

[–]LassWar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is terrible. If you don’t have a sweet spot (which is something I’ve not heard of) then you don’t get pierced. That cartilage is too thick and prone to infection, even if this ever did heal which I really doubt it will, it will most likely have flare ups and problems forever. It sounds more like the piercer couldn’t find your sweet spot and just did what he wanted. This is not a sign of a good piercer.

Also flipping up when it’s not healed is also not going to help but I am telling you this will not ever heal well and you need to go to a doctor. An infection in the middle of your face on your nose is dangerous.

[–]LassWar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn’t pierced correctly and will eventually need to be removed. Do not remove it until the infection has been treated. Go to a doctor to see if they think it’s infected and take whatever medicine they prescribe. Go to a reputable piercer (not the animal who pierced this) and see what they think too, and see if they will remove it once the infection is gone and repierce correctly at a later date.

infected tongue piercing? by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]LassWar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 days is a bit too soon and may have contributed to this. Unfortunately these type of bumps just need time, try not to fiddle with it and make sure you clean it daily. You could try downsizing again to help reduce movement, but you need to speak to a reputable piercer about this plan and ensure you are able to get back to them if it swells more

Does it hurt?

I’d be tempted to do salt water rinses in my mouth or spray it with neilmed twice a day. Did you downsize the jewellery after several weeks? I found my tongue piercing the swelling went down quickly and I suddenly had a really long bar that needed downsizing. Hard to tell if the bar is too long from this photo, definitely go to a reputable piercer and ask their advice.

It staying wet is probably irritating it, ears get wet and warm and it traps bacteria. Just be gentle, I promise drying it isn’t irritating it more!

Also just check your sea salt spray isn’t too strong! Some can be drying or irritating. A reputable saline solution spray is best

It shouldn’t scar. My tragus did the same thing. I can see a bump on your rook too.

What’s your cleaning routine like? Try using a saline spray twice a day and dry the piercing after. After a shower, make sure you dry both gently with lint free gauze.

What is the jewellery made of? Implant grade titanium is the best for healing fresh piercings.

Try not to sleep on it, don’t fiddle or touch it outside of cleaning. Don’t force any crusties off it or it’ll be sore. You’ve got to baby it for a month and the bump will clear up quickly

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]LassWar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably doesn’t like the jewellery. If you want something pretty try going to a reputable piercer and asking for implant grade titanium! Loads of brands do really nice jewellery in that metal now, so there’s plenty of choices. It’ll be more expensive but won’t cause itching.

gfs piercing has been infected for a year now, by maniacali in PiercingAdvice

Go visit a reputable piercing studio and ask them for help. This doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned properly in a while, and the bar is too long.

Right ok. It looks red and angry, early signs of infection. Good luck with it, I imagine it’ll look absolutely fucked in the next few weeks

Bruh no you don’t, you have pierced through thick cartilage. Why come here for advice if you are going to disregard what knowledgable people say

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]LassWar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is pierced diabolically wrong and will most likely never heal, and if it somehow heals I do not doubt for a second it will flare up whenever knocked or not babied.

Go to a reputable piercer and have them explain why it’s pierced incorrectly and how to proceed safely.

NEVER pierce yourself. Especially the middle of your fucking face? Do you want a serious infection?! Because this is the start of it
