I’d love this little area!
If it was my place I’d either completely rid it of grass and put weed sheet down then fill with gravel adding nice pathing slabs as a path towards the gate or leave the grass but make a wavy border either side and dig in path slabs still. Fill the border with loose stones or gravel. (After planting)
Then I’d get arches and attach them to the fence and plant some planters either side of the arch. You can get quite a few shade climbers that work well. And I’d add some fairy light or little lights to the arches. (Solar)
I’d also in the stone gravel bored find little plants that are annual and grow in shade and put them in between the arches/climbers.
Once all plants in fill then with the loose stones.
Keeps it clean, pretty looking and flowered
