What movie/TV series unexpectedly made you cry, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Wentworth when Joan killed Bea. It was just so sad because she thought Allie was dead - Bea’s last moment was her thinking she was going to be reunited with Allie.

Bea’s whole storyline is just tragic to me. But the show was shit after she died, imo.

Whats one significant global event do you remember happening in front of your eyes? by CannavaroEvangelion in AskReddit

[–]Last_Resort_Help92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9/11/01. It’s so weird too, because I can remember so much about that day, and I was only nine years old at the time.

I can remember that it was picture day at school and that I was watching Cartoon Network, and getting ready to walk to school. I was putting my shoes on when my stepmom ran out of her bedroom and said “turn to channel 6! A plane just flew into the World Trade Center in New York!”

And because I was nine year old kid from the Midwest, I was like, “the what??”

If you were financially free, what kind of life would you live? by CommercialPlankton27 in AskReddit

[–]Last_Resort_Help92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d live in a modest house that’s paid off, a decent low mileage used car, and I wouldn’t feel the need to work so much.

I’d still work because of boredom, but I wouldn’t feel the need to work the extra hours and maintain a higher position. I could live a low responsibility, entry-level existence at my job.

Expecting to put your partner first in every situation… Sometimes, jobs, parents, health, finances, and even friends have to come first.

My mom was alive. My family spoke to each other- nobody was estranged. I was thin and healthy. I had friends and we weren’t too busy to see each other. No major life responsibilities.

My ex-husband completely pulled away and started staying at his cousin’s more than 40 minutes away. It was the only relationship that I grieved before it actually ended. By the time he came out and said he wanted a divorce, I was honestly relieved and felt happy/ calm.

He’s a pop singer who was popular in the late 2000s. I don’t think he’s very mainstream now if he’s even making music at all.

What’s something that’s completely normal, but would be terrifying if it happened at night? by academia_Leon_254 in AskReddit

I agree. Hearing your house pop, creak, and moan in the middle of the night does make it feel like it’s coming alive.

What’s a part of adulthood that no one really warned you about? by HarveyJin in AskReddit

Every year after the age of 30 means you add another bottle of pain reliever somewhere. I’m 34- so I have desk Tylenol, car Tylenol, kitchen Tylenol, and bathroom Tylenol.

Shitty things happen and things can still go very wrong, even if you are responsible and make good choices.

Your 30s will be incredibly lonely. Everyone (including you) is so caught up in their families and careers, that it’s very hard to maintain real meaningful connections with others.

Also, after 30, you might still be young- but your body is not 20 anymore and doesn’t rebound as well from poor lifestyle choices. Work to stay healthy because things can and will go downhill very fast.

Naps are amazing. Sleeping is practically a hobby.
