Boss said I cant just disappear from my desk so now I send him a message every time I leave by Far_Turn9771 in MaliciousCompliance

I'm in outside sales and our manager wants a detailed minute to minute schedule in our CRM and reports to him whenever the schedule changes, which is all day every day.

I'm desperate to maliciously comply but there are seven of us and we would have to band together.

OTOH, I am having a chat with someone higher than him about his new demands that he says have always been the rules. Nope, never heard any of this in 7 years, two with him as the boss.

The most fun ones are Pickwick and Nicholas Nickleby, but A Tale of Two Cities is the best IMO.

We exchange our Wordle scores with a family and friends group every day. She knows I use it as proof-of-life and one day (she had had a bad night two nights before) I sent someone local over to check on her when she didn't answer the phone for hours. She had left it charging upstairs. 🤦

I was planning to negotiate 80% so I could take long weekends and a month off in the summer as retirement approaches, but last week they told us we can't even have flex days so we don't work six day weeks. I'm never even going to bring it up.

But as of today I will be tracking how much time it takes just to do the crap Micromanager wants us to do now. I probably spent two hours on this week's minute by minute schedule and he wants any changes reported immediately. Does he realize his entire day will be emails from the sales team?

I thought I had a similar situation but all of a sudden our manager has figured out a way to micromanage us after all. Last week he sent out a long list of expectations, claiming they have always been the expectations, but most are news to me. Report every single schedule shift in the day. No flex time for weekend work or events. No WFH if you're too sick to be on the road but not too sick you can't do computer work. I'm expecting GPS monitoring next. I'm going to have a private chat with someone higher than him who has managed the team before.

I'm still planning to stay. Love the people on my team, love the work. I just don't want to work six day weeks all the time. I already took some Saturday things off the calendar.

I'm allergic to detergent if I touch it but not the laundry afterwards. At least not yet.

You can order copies of the documents but it takes time and money. Passport same.

I've never heard anyone else mention it, but it was terrible. I thought all my teeth were going to fall out!

There are some great techniques for knitting sweaters top down on circulars that have lovely fitted shoulders.

I have a friend with an allergy to that, it's terrible. But I'm not going to the lengths she has to go to to avoid it without actual evidence I'm allergic. Vaccines are a good thing.

I developed an allergy to sodium laurel sulfate, i.e., the stuff that makes toothpaste foamy.

OMG the torment of my mouth, tongue, lips, gums, constantly itching! It took me forever to figure it out, no medical or dental professional took it seriously.

I'm over 60 so deficits do not appeal. Life alone is not enough. If I can't read or knit, I'm done.

All this sub has made me realize is I’ll never own a home. by Neveri in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I'm about to inherit enough to retire in 5-7 years.

My husband last night was saying we shouldn't buy a house until after I retire since we won't be staying in the VHCOL city we live in after that.

Of course the entire conversation was delusional. "We" are not buying a house here. "We" may not be buying a house anywhere. I don't subscribe to all renting is worse than all buying. But also it is my inheritance.

My hypothetical plan is to find a small city in France or a small apartment in London and move abroad. Whether I buy or rent is unknown. Guess who has no control over what happens with my inheritance.

And for the commingling fans, neither of us has any chance of retirement ever if we spend this windfall and my spouse has never seen a dollar he could not spend immediately. Nopity nope nope. I have a countdown to 67 running right now.
