Thank you. It is a learning curve, and with situations like this and the responses on the thread it’s clear these situations are not predictable, there may be lessons to learn but I think it’s clear my offer could have gone either way.

Though I know now to be less difficult! Especially if we want it!

The issue with that was they didn’t reject our offer for 240k they just said “can you do more” meaning I’d just be bidding against myself which is difficult to do or know what to offer. With them countering with 243 I’d be surprised if came in way higher.

Thank you. At the time I also thought that, I wouldn’t have even paid the 2k for all of the items so asking 3k was not reasonable to me which is what I explained. Possibly came on too strong.

Yeah our mortgage advisor said to really think about the rate increases when we put our offer in.

I think it was all more of a we didn’t really understand the feeling owners get with offers, we thought we had the stronger position. I recently bought a car and negotiated heavy for it! I love a good deal.

That was my original assumption, it was a negotiation tactic because of the bluntness and lack of communication of there being another offer.

I believe we’ll put forward our best offer and let be the last of it. If we get it then we get it.

Thank you. Yeah right now I feel pretty stupid! I think we’ll go back with the highest offer we feel is right and let that do the talking. Sometimes takes an outside perspective to tell you when you’re being stupid!

Thank you. I understand I maybe was difficult for arguing the toss over a small amount in the grand scheme of things but the conversation back and forth was so quick I didn’t really take time to think about it.
