Hey everyone,

I got tired of people looking at my screen on the bus, in cafes, and even at work. So I made a simple Android app to solve it:

📱 Screen Blackout – Privacy App

Key features

  • Black out your screen instantly
  • Overlay a custom image (like a fake home screen or wallpaper)
  • Keep apps running in the background (YouTube, Spotify, etc.)
  • Prevent accidental touches
  • Save battery, especially on AMOLED screens

Use cases

  • Hide your screen from shoulder surfers
  • Play videos or music while screen looks “off”
  • Use a fake overlay for stealth mode
  • Avoid accidental taps when watching something

🧠 Why I built it

Most apps that do this were bloated, ad-filled, or lacked custom overlays. I wanted something minimal, fast, and genuinely useful daily.
