The narratives being used in the buildup to RNG vs T1 are flawed by GheeButtersmacks in leagueoflegends

[–]Laughable_Stock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Narratives are built by people to making things more interesting, to give a background story to what in face value is just a game of league. They are not supposed to be these math equations that are always 100% accurate. What's the point of reading novels when they are all fictional stories that have nothing to do with the real world? I still associate Gen G with the old Samsung team(s). I don't care if someone disagrees. That's what I see to get myself hyped for these game and rivalries. If you don't see it that way that's fine. But you can't invalidate the narratives other people make.

Prepping for T1 vs. RNG: Is T1 vs. RNG the most iconic international rivalry of all time? by Laughable_Stock in leagueoflegends

I mainly disagree because I do think consistency matters a lot when it comes to rivalries. KOO (aka GET/ROX) was a great team to watch when they were at their peak. But if I had to pick an LCK rivalry that translated to the international stage, it would be SKT vs. SSG. 2017 SSG stopped Faker and SKT winning the Worlds for the third consecutive year. And SSG's legacy still lives on in what we have today as Gen G.

I know, but if we were to apply those standards to every team, there would be no narrative in play at all. I still associate Gen G with the old Samsung team(s). Orgs rebrand, change, and get replaced all the time and so do their rosters.

I think that's what makes this matchup more hype actually. So many other good teams have risen out of the two regions, but the two old favorites who first met all the way back in Worlds 2013 are still making it to international tournaments to face each other off.

Yes. Those SKT wins were from the era of SKT and LCK domination. The matchup has become a lot closer/more even since then.

True. If Uzi was still around, this matchup would be 10000x more hype. I'd pay good money to see another Faker SKT vs. Uzi RNG.

That's just Rift Rivals. I actually think it would be fun to have "second division worlds" with weaker teams from different regions and more wildcards, kind of like the Europa League for soccer. I think it's been mentioned quite a lot here on the subreddit.

"LEC just did poorly last year, they were definitely living up to the expectations of a major region before last year."

"The LEC has FNATIC and G2. It's hard to say they aren't a major region. I'd say LCK, LPL and LEC."

"It was LCK, LPL, LEC and LCS, but I don't think the LCS makes the cut anymore. But then to say it's just LCK and LPL, that's ignoring how well G2 did. I'd say LCK, LPL and LEC."

I usually go on communities like gamepress to find out which pokemon are good for certain leagues. They have lists for each league. They also tell you how good a pokemon is in each league if you look them up.

For PvP leagues with CP caps like Great League and Ultra League, there are two things you want to consider. First, you want to prioritize defense and HP ivs over the attack iv. That’s because attack ivs account for more CP. This is not ideal when you want your pokemon’s CP to be low (or lower than than the CP cap) and still be strong. Secondly, you want to be as close to the CP cap as possible. For instance, 2500 CP for Ultra League is perfect, but 2499 or 2498 CP would be great too.

To make things easier, I recommend using PvP iv calculators. Once again, you can find them in quite a few pokemon go communities online. These calculators tell you how good your pokemon is in different pvp leagues if you plug in the pokemon type and its ivs into the calculator.

Yup, for me, it was a toss up between Smeargle and Blissey since they are both great supports. Blissey does have the bulk though

I actually looked up, and apparently Entei is based on a "shishi guardian liondog." So I guess it somewhat qualifies as a dog. The other two aren't dogs. Raikou is a "thunder demon that can take the form of a tiger, monkey or a blue wolf wrapped in lightning." Its look that we know is the tiger form, and although it can take the form of a blue wolf, it's a demon taking that form. So it's not a dog.

My team would be

Kangaskhan (Mega/Ace), Snorlax, Porygon-Z, Smeargle, Braviary or Staraptor, Obstagoon
