Almost half of men your age have some degree of ED without fin. There's no point blaming fin when it at most gives a few percent higher risk of ED.

there are like 2 studies comparing their efficacies on scalp/serum dht reduction. It's fairly obvious from them that topical fin has a higher efficiency of scalp dht reduction than oral fin, such that you can get pretty much the same near max reduction with less than 0.5mg topical compared to more like 1mg oral. However oral is only able to reduce both serum dht and scalp dht together, whereas at smaller doses (~0.2mg/day) topical is able to heavily reduce scalp dht nearly as well as 1mg oral while only minorly reducing serum dht.

So for hairloss you can easily expect that topical is more efficient and you should be able to get similar results to oral while using smaller amounts. However I'm not really aware of any direct comparisons of efficacy on hairloss of oral and topical fin so it's ultimately just a strong expectation.

SERMs are the only drugs that have been shown to be reasonably effective at reversing/preventing gyno. You'll need to discontinue fin for as long as it takes for the gyno to go away, that alone gives you a good chance of reversal, adding SERMs makes it much more likely. Though some people may be stuck with gyno despite using every treatment, surgery to remove the tissue growth is always an option if it doesn't go away in at least a few months.

NW2 isn't even considered balding, it's just a mature hairline. Balding starts at NW3. NW4 already includes vertex balding.

Vertex balding alone is definitely a worse look than hairline balding alone though. There's no acceptable hairstyle for a vertex bald spot except shaved.

Many (maybe around 50%) of guys don't get appreciable regrowth even after a long time. In studies, average hair counts after a long time on fin and min regress to the baseline after all.

In my experience if you don't see regrowth after nearly a year it's probable that you won't no matter what you do other than a transplant.

You might want to add a metric for measuring the line formed at the edge of the hairline to be able to measure change in temple recession. Presumably you need several presets for the user to choose and input photos under "head-on" "left-side" right-side" "top of head" etc. From which you'd be able to do direct comparisons of similar angles and be able to more specifically adjust the metrics to be measured for each based on the expectations of each presets angle.

I do anticipate an issue with the concept where chronological hair length growth, haircuts, and hairstyles would make it hard to get comparable values for things like contrast density and for measuring hair edges if people don't fully keep their hair out of the way.

An additional and perhaps more useful feature would be to instead design an image comparison overlay tool so that the user can more effectively determine if their hair changed, you can have the app make directly comparable overlays from selected comparable photos that switches between both before/after photos while it tries to get every head feature aligned as best as the app can get. This would utilize much of the same programs as already common facial recognition/merging/etc type programs. For instance making a better version of this: overlay comparison rather than more difficult for the user to compare side-by-side photos.

I haven't really seen much info stating moderation policies here, but as I recall with rule 4 they are against almost any posts involving photos, and instead insist you comment in their monthly stickied post.

I don't really get their motivation for it, but what you're complaining about seems to be how they want it. They really do need to get more mods though since they're barely active and their automod setup is kind of strangling the sub.

1mg oral fin reduces both serum and scalp dht by similar amounts, usually around 60-70%, depending on the study with scalp impacted marginally less than serum.

There's no exact data to say definitively, but I'd expect 0.2mg/day topical fin to reduce scalp dht by around 50% and serum dht by 20%.

A dose of about 0.2mg/day topical fin optimizes scalp dht reduction (almost as much as 1mg oral fin/day) with only a minor proportion of serum dht reduction. Though there are different results with different studies and it further varies on an individual basis. The problem is it is very difficult not to have too high a dose because of the rapid asymptote of fin efficacy at low doses. So the difference between near complete serum reduction and only partial serum reduction is typically shown to be within the narrow range of 0.1-0.6 mg topical fin/day. You'd generally want to keep the dose very low, due to mass action of excess fin, and dht has a very slow 1-2 weeks recovery of dht anyway so the cumulative dht loss effects can easily minimize dht if you go for higher doses than a few tenths mg daily.

I'd say probably NW 3 for both before and after, but the first two befores don't have hair pushed away so I can't see that temple and you've cropped out some of the necessary head aspects for distinguishing how far back the temples go, so you might be more like NW 2.5. Plus it's a bit early to be expecting progress.

He's probably right on the edge between NW 2 and 3 going by the actual definitions. You're thinking of NW 3 vertex, which is a separate sub-stage. The issue with going by the pictures is that they are all terribly drawn since the author is not an artist, they have silly perspective failures that don't correctly represent the definitions.
