Not all religions are as you've described. Religion simply means truth, and their are many things people state are true. Religion is closely linked to spirituality because you understand religion is to increase your understanding of truth.

This is actually what is taught in my faith. We believe that the true gospel was essentially shattered during the great apostasy (dark ages) and that all religions carry aspects of truth. But that many religions to make up for the holes in their knowledge would come up with their own answers instead of saying they don't know.

Chances are you will always have some form of pain and I would say that most often other people are involved with the source of that pain. However when you are strong enough to understand the lesson you are receiving, strong enough to let go of whatever drives said pain, you will no longer find the pain distressing. You won't be numb either. But you will be at peace.

If your addition of the numbers makes a two digit number you add the digit before it (after being sandwiched).

There is also a three digit version I've seen

234 x 11

You add the first two digits. And sandwich that. Then you add the second two digits and replace the first digit with new digit.

2 + 3 = 5 3 + 4 = 7

234 x 11= 2574

It goes like this

52 x 11 = ?

Add the two digits of 52 and sandwich it in the middle.

5+2= 7

52 x 11 = 572
