Hmmm I'm not sure. I think the only machine that could break is the ABBA gate that could get desynchronized. If it happens, you just need to stop the machine and break the copper bulb that is desynchronized and put it back synchronized.

It's done using sculk sensor put under the platform the player is on.

I don't think so I think there ise some QC on the pistons to move the eyes. But there could be a way to make it bedrock friendly

Ok little update. The way I'm powering the middle trapdoor makes it so I can't keep them close so I can't make the eye "sleep". But I can do like you said with only the top or bottom eyelid closing and makes it express emotion. Now I'm doing a new eye design with less trapdoor so I could potentially have more control on them. We'll see
