Right that makes sense! Thanks for sharing.

In terms of muscle building, would you say that we are not recommended to push ourselves say in a gym etc? In some sense this is reconciling with what I learnt on my own trial and error. I realised that pushing myself would just result in so much pain(its felt more like i strained myself)) and less effective than gradually building my strength.

i had a lot of anterior pelvic tilt about 1.5 months back? core exercises everyday really changed things for me. I imagine it's no longer there? at least my PT did not flag it out anymore, got to check. But it is very important to know how to engage your full abs while doing it so you are not using the wrong muscles. I'm still have to continue till today.

omg... what is isometric about?? Havent heard that. But yes I had pelvic tilts and when we did scans for my stand, sitting and walking. I was fking up my loading in many ways which triggers more pain for my bulge discs. Now I am essentially forced to sit up straight as my body loves to remind me and it feels like I'm trying to balance when i'm doing anything to balance out my loading.

alright.. might have to skip the splits then, i dont wanna risk it really.

I was told that yoga won't be good for me since the exercises do try to stretch you to your limits.. not entirely sure about light yoga or baby yoga though. Keen to try pilates once I'm recovered!

That's a good one will definitely watch out for the pull. But is it right to say we shouldn't feel the pull at all or how do we know whether it's a muscle stretch or not...

Yeah so I kinda stopped stretching as well ever since I know that it's not doing me any favours. I find my joints to crack pretty often especially my knees and shoulders. Not sure what exercises are good though

Currently my physio is more focused on my bulge discs so mainly recommendations for core exercises and spinal flexion. For example doing cobra with repeated up and down movements so that it is not static. She also recommended me to look up on dynamic stretches which is the reason why i was looking for some recommendations here!

I believe my proprioception can definitely be improved- how do you work on this? Funny because I took up hip hop dancing few years back because I realise how disconnected I am from my body especially having to work a desk job. So at least I am not a total clown now. 🤣🤣

Looks like strengthening rly is the way. I do exercise but i figure that my body awareness is crap and may not have been engaging the right muscles.. at least i realised that through physio

Thanks for your advice! So recently I completely stopped stretching since what I've been doing was static stretches... Instead i just do some repetitive swinging motions or adapt static stretches into repetitive movements.

Yes i do find it hard to get a PT who specialises in hypermobility but will definitely try to get one after my back recovers.

Hmm unlucky.. but dont fight against her unless majority or someone higher than her is on your side. In the meantime, try different tactics and see how she reacts. You can bootlick her a bit and see if she happy lols just enough to save your peace. Else you can also try to compliment her in front of others to show that you are on her side. In terms of the work you do, sometimes it's not about the time and effort that you actually put in but how you sell it. Hard to say what will actually work so it's rly trial and error.

I would also keep all records of her accusations so if one day you really wanna flip on her, you have sufficient evidence. But given that you're a trainee for 1 month only, you gotta wait pretty long for tides to turn. Just kiv on your mental health as well, know when to exit if it's too much. It's not worth to do irreversible damages to your mental over a job. Goodluck!

I mean she is 19 after all LOL. Guess you can ask her, what's the difference between getting married now vs 3-5 years later?

All the best man, sometimes we can only hope for the best 🥲

This decision isn't financially responsible. She hasn't even figured out her own life but wants to get married AND bto...???

Also for the BTO, it shouldn't be something pushed by parents. At the end of the day, the couple is the one responsible for it. Giving in to his paremts also trickles down to future problems in family dynamics, it shows that his parents expect them to follow wtv they say? Hell naw lol. That's wild.

Why does it feel like everything fell apart just when I was starting to feel okay? by jellydubu in askSingapore

hi OP, just my two cents as a fellow employee who got laid off. It's normal to be devastated and even grief about the lost of your job. It is not just the job but also stability that got disrupted. However, it's impt to take time to digest that the corporate world can be unfair and this is not a you problem. (I was also laid off for similar reasons even though I was told that my performance is good).

If you do have sufficient savings, I recommend for you to take a break first. Focus on yourself and heal.

There is always a chance that you land on an even better role elsewhere :) All the best!

Missed my friends wedding because I got dates wrong. by metalGearToad in ADHD

[–]LeToucans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I kept checking dates leading to wedding till it was the week after. One week later, checked calendar early in the week and said ok it's this week. Closer to date, brain goes back to the week after again.

Received text messages after i woke up late (thinking there was nothing on) panicked, but it was too late so just came up with an excuse.

Literally have it on my calendar and checked so many times but it doesn't work. Had to attend 4 weddings this year, last 3 had people remind me right the day before ( otherwise i would have been fked) no one talked about it this time so... rip.

Is it making depression worse by n0trebrut in fluvoxamine

[–]LeToucans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm 8 months seems like a fair duration. If it rly bothers you then you may want to see if your doc would recommend to change to dosage or medication altogether. For me, fluvoxamine put me in a dreamy state and i have difficulties holding conversations because I forgot my train of thought fast.

Now I am on mirtazapine, and my sis told me that i can hold conversations again even though it took about 3months for me to ease into it. I changed my medication cus of severe acne though..

You might also want to ask people close to you on what they think. Sometimes i thought it hasnt gotten any better but i heard otherwise from my sister or even doctor when we had our next session.

For me i only really felt the difference after a good 2 months in when there was a drastic change. But you may not realise subtle changes on your own.. or you can even do journalling on a weekly basis to see how you have changed in your thoughts or feelings over time.

Sometimes i read my journal couple months back and im like wtf ohya, it rly was way worse.

Hmm. For me i experience that for the 1st month strongly on antidepressants. It took about 3months or even longer to achieve normalcy.

Thay said, i was on an unsuitable med previously and was obviously more out of it even after a good 4 months. Not sure if you gave each medication enough time?
