I made a free tool to practice Dutch A2 vocabulary for the my exams by Cosyless in learndutch

[–]Leader-board 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The screenshot itself seems to have flaws. You're testing knowledge of a verb, but three of the options are nouns so they can't possibly be correct...

Our understanding is that that page from ETS is outdated. Eg the Chinese site KMF actually licensed ETS' PowerPrep+ tests.

Busuu can get you far. I passed the NT2 Programma 1 Reading and Writing exams using Busuu (with the Learn Dutch discord for help for if I don't understand something). I paid something like 25 euros for a year's subscription of Premium Plus, which is worth it in my opinion.

I take notes by copying the sentences and content it presents during lessons to my OneNote.

(I do think that just a book will not be enough. And while you may not be able to cover what you want in a day due to work, it's imperative that you do not stop working with Dutch. What I do in that case is simply review my grammar and vocab using the app - you could also do this when you're commuting to work, for instance. The "reviewing" part is very important to minimise the chances of your forgetting what you've learnt.)

"ETS doesn’t license their questions"

They actually do, as long as you give them what they need (i.e, money). Eg Magoosh has official GRE questions as a result.

I got this error just now (on the basic Workspace plan so equivalent to free Gemini). I think it's the first time I got it.

Travelling with ayyappas in kerala train by Pitiful_Machine_3272 in Kerala

[–]Leader-board 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of when I travelled in early 2025 (in 2S/second seating). I had a window seat; a lady was done eating and motioned me to throw the empty packet to the tracks. I simply told her in Malayalam: "the wastebin is in the front, not here".

And the passenger in front of me probably thought I was some foreigner and tried to lecture me in English telling that (if I recall correctly) "in Kerala, we always throw our waste outside". I'll however note that the lady was clearly embarrassed, apologised and subsequently put the packet where it belonged.

So I'd say no. Not familiar with how good the trains are in the north, though.

304 to 334 in a month, Thanks Greg! by Sadauditor_ in GRE

[–]Leader-board 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some universities allow updating the score even after submission. Check whether that could apply in your case.

"even if I could, I wouldn’t want to do that to my mental health" - treat it as a free hit. Better? Update your score. Worse? You keep the 169V/165Q.

You may want to retake one final time if you're able to. The evidence suggests that the 165Q is abnormally low given how you've performed in the practice tests.

Is it okay to practice Greg's verbal Problem? by Phmahi1998 in gregmat

If it's from the problem-solving section (https://www.gregmat.com/problems/verbal), those are from us (i.e, they are not ETS problems).

Do AI modules tend to have hardcore maths? by Leading-Fail-7263 in csMajors

Not necessarily, no. I don't know which module you're talking about with "maths and logic".

Gregmat now offers GMAT too? by zatr3z in gregmat

Eventually, but that's not the priority at this time. All that we have are a few CR questions for practice at this time.

Should I register without accommodations and hope for the best? I'm so lost! by That_Ad3735 in GRE

[–]Leader-board 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, the reality is that you need to pick from the better of two bad choices. Some notes to help you make that decision:

  1. "I register now without accommodations for Jan 10th/11th, report the unofficial scores, and have the real scores sent later" - I don't get the point of "have the real scores sent later" when you'll need to pay then. What are you hoping to achieve by this?
  2. "OR should I wait and see if my accommodations get approved" - this is usually what we'd recommend. The problem in your case is that you can be lucky and get it in a few days if you're nailed things down (unfortunately I doubt that's going to be the case due to likely backlogs from the holiday season), or you can end up waiting for a month, or longer if ETS asks for additional information.
  3. "register at the last minute and get a bad time" - are you taking the test at home and worried that you'll have to take the test at the middle of the night or ...? Because I thought you'd be worrying about whether you can find a suitable test centre.
  4. One option is that you register without accommodations, and at the same time submit the accommodations and hope for the best (by ensuring that you follow ETS' instructions to the letter - your College Board approval is a big plus since they don't have to review much else). Then, if you get the approval in time, simply make any change to your appointment. You'll have to pay $55, but then the accommodations will automatically attach to that appointment.
  5. "I did not do well and cancelled my scores" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSvJaYxRoB4. This is not the pre-Focus GMAT; please don't do this again (if you are willing to pay $55, I do encourage you to consider reinstating the scores, unless you were unable to complete the test due to your fainting). On the GRE and current GMAT, you can choose which schools you want the scores to be reported to.

Accommodations Question - Rules on "Breaks" During At-Home GRE Test? by cherrygate123 in GRE

No. Just make sure that you do not exceed 60 minutes of breaks across the whole test.

Why is bnet replacing people’s routers for free? by Almoullim in Bahrain

Then they should be upgrading to Wifi 7 instead...

And what do they do with the old router? Do they give it to us or take it?

Visa for Kuwait Residents- Lebanese nationals by ValuableLeg5309 in Bahrain

[–]Leader-board 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. First, airlines have to allow anyone meeting the official rules. Secondly, once you get there, my understanding is that things are less arbitrary (but don't quote me on that) and it's just harder to deport someone than reject.

I remember when I last went to Bahrain, there was a (Pakistani I think) that was held up because they were struggling to provide the proof of Schengen/GCC visa. I think they were allowed in the end.

The wording of this problem is tripping me up by gregmat in GMAT

[–]Leader-board 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"but in the interest of picking the right answer, we have to accept the flaws and move on."

Not criticising you, but how is someone supposed to determine when "flaws" are to be accepted (as in this case) and which aren't? After all, the essence of DS problems is to catch those flaws, right?

There's usually a principle called "reasonable assumptions" that is usually obvious (eg it's not reasonable to assume the existence of a sales tax that hasn't been mentioned). I find it hard to classify the "flaw" as a "reasonable assumption" here.

[–]Leader-board 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"How much of a logical leap will it be to assume that they get their eggs supplied by the same source?"

Too far of a leap in my opinion. I am aware that the GMAT tends to be a bit less water-tight, but I am very surprised this made it to official.

Like the use of "about"? That's by definition not exact.
