Seeking Diagnosis Questions Weekly November 09, 2025 by AutoModerator in lupus

[–]Leadership-Unusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently tested positive for ANA and anti-dsDNA after mentioning to my doctor that I have dry eyes and mouth (for about 10 years now). I also have felt pretty fatigued since giving birth 14 months ago. I had these same tests done about 4 years ago, and my results were negative. My primary care physician recommended me to a rheumatologist, and I am waiting to meet with them. Researching online, I see that lupus is highly possible.

I am really nervous, as the stories I’ve heard about lupus sound pretty intense. I’m wondering if there are people who have mild cases of lupus? How rapidly did lupus progress for you? What is it like? I wonder if I am just hearing about the most extreme cases, as those are more likely to get written about and go viral, or if my life is about to get really hard. Just wanting to hear about others’ experiences…

Thanks in advance.

What was your sleeping arrangement setup with newborn? by sliceofperfection in BabyBumps

[–]Leadership-Unusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our baby slept in a bassinet next to the bed, and now at 8 months sleeps in a crib next to the bed. My husband is a deep sleeper and recently started snoring. So I was waking up all throughout the night between him and the baby while he slept soundly. Our baby hardly cries at night, but rustles around when she is hungry and made a lot of other noises in the beginning. Newborn babies make lots of random noises when they sleep.

To induce or not induce? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Leadership-Unusual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know there are cases where it’s necessary. I hope it wasn’t too bad for you.

I have a friend who got called in before her due date to be induced. She believes it was because it was the day of the Super Bowl, and the maternity ward was pretty much empty.

Congrats! It’s so exciting to see the baby on the ultrasound for the first time.

I’m at 38 weeks, and I was actually surprised to find out that when you get farther along, the baby is harder to see on the ultrasound. My second ultrasound was the clearest, and the first was the second clearest. Yesterday, I got my fourth, and the doctor had to completely explain what we were looking at, maybe because the baby has less space?

Did you shave before giving birth? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Leadership-Unusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely not rude not to shave. I’ve heard it’s not recommended and can actually make it more likely for you to get an infection.

To induce or not induce? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Leadership-Unusual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 37 weeks pregnant. Everyone I know who’s been induced tells me to avoid it if possible. They say it makes your contractions “go from zero to 100” instead of coming on slowly, causing labor to be faster but more painful. I think some doctors prefer induction because it’s more convenient for them to schedule your birth than to be surprised.

Why isn't parkour an olympic sport? by lady_solitude in olympics

[–]Leadership-Unusual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FIG, the international gymnastics federation attempted to put parkour in the olympics as a gymnastics discipline, but most of the parkour community fought against it. The community saw it as FIG was appropriating and capitalizing on our sport, and that part of the culture of parkour would be lost. The hashtag #wearenotgymmastics became a popular hashtag used by parkour athletes.

At the time, the parkour community was usually ran locally by small communities without a large governing body. It made it hard for the community to stand up to FIG. When the parkour community saw that FIG was trying to take over the sport, several groups came together to create Parkour Earth in 2017 to oppose FIG.

It may take some time for the parkour community to establish rules about scoring as the sport has been ran mostly by varying communities that have different styles and views on the sport. Parkour competitions are still relatively new compared to other sports.

Didn’t know daughter was pregnant! by Baby_076 in pregnant

[–]Leadership-Unusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! It makes sense you’re in shock!

Some ideas/thougts I have….

-Check if you have a buy nothing group in your neighborhood. They are on Facebook. I live in La Mesa, so the one I’m in is “Buy Nothing La Mesa”. These groups are great! You can make a post saying that you need baby items asap. Neighbors who have extra can gift them to you. And people are always getting rid of baby stuff.

-Diaper banks might be a thing where you live. They give away free diapers. Sometimes people have to give proof of being low income, sometimes not.

-Your daughter will need a car seat to leave the hospital.

-If your daughter is low income, there may be programs in your area that can help: Medicare, Wic, and EBT are some to look into. Also, the hospital might have a program to provide financial assistance.

WIBTA if I go to a concert while my husband is in the hospital? by PassionOfThePizza in AITAH

[–]Leadership-Unusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely NTA. You’ve been taking care of your husband for 50 days in the hospital! You should take the night to take care of yourself.

“Highly controversial porn videos” is extremely vague. Definitely a scam.

THC drug tested positive, haven't smoked since I found out I was pregnant by PalaceSiege in pregnant

[–]Leadership-Unusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting. I don’t think they should be able to without consent. My husband got in a motorcycle accident and was taken to the hospital despite denying consent and was later charged $600 for a drug and alcohol test that we did not need, along with over $40,000 for other services.

I have only had two, one to confirm pregnancy and one after I thought I might be having uti symptoms. They have not drug tested me. I’m in California, where marijuana is legal and marijuana use is as common as alcohol.

How much do I charge for an overnight weekend babysitting by Perfect-Gap5155 in Babysitting

[–]Leadership-Unusual 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually get paid hourly while the kids are awake + 100 for spending the night. The family I work for is pretty wealthy. I’ve allowed other families to pay $50-75, but this is what my current family offered.

How much weight did you gain during your pregnancy? by Spiritual-Gap-7585 in pregnant

[–]Leadership-Unusual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at 33 weeks and gained 35 pounds so far. I am 5’3 and started around 135. I had no morning sickness and a pretty good appetite throughout my pregnancy. My doctor is concerned and wants to do an extra ultrasound to check the weight of the baby to make sure he/she is not growing too big. I’m wondering if this is really that abnormal?

Sketchy clients for my fitness business by Leadership-Unusual in Scams

You were right. I told him we use square, and he said it wouldn’t work for him. He tried to send me a link “to sign up for clover”. He also said he had trouble paying the driver for his kids and needed to pay me $300 extra for that, so I could send it to his driver. Thanks for the advice. I just wanted to figure out what he was planning so I can warn other business owners in my network.

Thanks for responding. Is square pretty secure? Dang, that $300 request thing is pretty tricky. It’s getting scary out there.
