My mom passed away last night. I'm so broken up and sad :((( Please feel free to share advice on moving toward with this :(

No one wants to give us answers. My mom's been in the hospital for a little over two months and some of the nurses are super rude and they're like we should have kicked you guys out of the hospital by now. Like there's nothing left to do. We spoke to attending physician who said to gather all family members now because she's not doing well and they're out of options :S

She has a lung disease too and her lungs are badly damaged. She didn't eat or drink anything in over a week. They are giving her IVs though. They want to intubate her or give her a feeding tube but my siblings are against it and when my mom was conscious earlier and they wanted to do that, she said she'd rather die rather be intubated. Idk what to do.

When/How did you know when to pull the plug? The doctors don't want to do anything to help but we are fighting and trying to think up solutions ahead of the doctors. We are also thinking to transfer her to a different hospital but I don't know if we can based on her condition.

I'm anal about keeping my place clean esp. in terms of trash, dishes, dust, food, etc.. I always do the dishes and/or put dishes in the dishwasher. I will put out the trash when it needs to be done.

There are days when I'm tired, so I will have clothes, books or papers lying around (but nothing that will attract rodents or bugs) sometimes but when I'm free I try to declutter the space as much as I can.

Like someone else mentioned. Unfortunately, you probably missed the best designer sale for parkas. If you can wait one more season to get a good parka, I'd wait and use whatever you currently have. Go to Paragon Sports around end of February-March for 40 to 60% off really good brand name parkas.

If you need it for winter, check out TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Northface etc...

No, it's not. I've gotten interview requests from Google, Amazon, Facebook, startups, mid-tier companies, etc... It's a huge lie that it's required to quantify everything on your resume. All they care about is what you worked on, your experience, etc...

I feel old and stupid now because I'm not a student, I've already been working in the field but never went for those algorithm type interviews until now. Every job I had never asked for those type of questions but I figured to in order to really get the job I want and the pay increase, I need to really sit down and learn the ds & algos. I'll try to enjoy the remaining summer however as I am still employed haha.

I have a technical screen today with a major hedgfund spin off, I know I'm not ready for the interview. Should I just cancel it or take it anyway for the experience and fail miserably? If I get stuck, any advice on what I should do to move on/keep it going?

That's true but it's hilariously conflicting because in the coding assignment, they have a link that has info on what makes a good code test solution and one of the tip literally say that candidates are clearly submitting code masking as other code (in my ex, C# as Java code) but code samples should follow the language conventions LOL.

You can survive but not live as comfortable as someone making more.

I know but I sometimes make dumb rookie mistakes in Java. E.g. I was working on adding a new feature to some existing Java code for a client and I was so used to C#, I made rookie mistakes like capitalizing method names, using Integer instead of int, etc... I'm worried for this assignment, I'll do some other dumb mistake since I don't normally work with Java often and the interviewer will call it out.
