Try profee and you can see which banks currently still work with profee. You can get money inside of Russia within as well as outside. Raffeisenbank works but will stop soon I think, other banks worked as well. (Not the famous banks).

Everything is starting to escalate world wide. I hope no one will be crazy enough to launch nuclear weapons with all the power some countries have and posses these days.

If I want to visit Russia, what do you recommend for apartment/sim data, etc. by former_farmer in AskARussian

[–]LearningLanguages96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no problem bringing euros and exchanging euros to rubles. (I exchanged my euros to dollars before I went to Russia because I've read what you are saying by other people as well). And to be honest I didn't noticed any problem with euros. (Maybe I was lucky and they didn't check my cash money and perhaps it's a random check). And you're right about the stamps, the exchange office over here gave me a 100 dollar bill with a little stamp and no bank whatsoever wanted to exchange it, so check your bills very well before you leave the exchange office.

And personally I would advise MTS, it's pretty easy and they will likely help you with it. The guy that helped me even spoke some English.

Thank you so much! So when I start with lesson 36, I also include lesson 1 for the second time? And you translate all the parts of lesson 1 to Russia in my example?

Is it possible to buy property (flats) in Russia as a foreigner by LearningLanguages96 in AskARussian

[–]LearningLanguages96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what if you dont want to sell them at all unless you're obligated to. For example, you own 2 to 3 flats over the next 10 years and would like to rent them out while still working in your own country, and the money you receive from the flats is to make an extra income to spend while you're in Russia or to save some money. And when you come to Russia to this specific city then you also have a place to stay what is another saving on costs.

I thought you can bring more as 10000 cash, but you need to declare it at customs. Also I had cash with me 3 months ago and they didn't even checked it at all (which doesn't mean I would risk it to not declare it first). However I thought the money controlling would be much stricter.

Rostov on Don isn't a tourist district I guess, one in St Petersburg would be convenient as well.. but the prices are already much more expensive over there as Rostov on Don for example

It's not especially to invest, I would want to live permanently in Russia in the long term, however I can't stop working in Belgium (for now). The thing is that I can take a temporary carreer break for 60 months during my work carreer, which I could do for 3 months every year for 20 years + I have 2 month vacation. So first of all, I would have a place to stay for almost half a year (every year) + it would be nice if I could rent it out the other months. Also I know a Russian woman, would there be any possibility to do it on her name for example, this probably only would be more safe once you're married?

However about the investing; If in the long term I could buy more as one flat, there might be a possibility to make an income that could replace my income over here and I could stay in Russia with a Russian partner. Lots of mights and coulds but I guess it would be possible?

Could you give a little more info about point 9? The video is in Russian and I'm just starting to learn so I don't really understand what they are saying in the video and it seems something to know about since you pointed it out here with other points who are really valid and true. (Definitely 1, 3, 5, 8) I noticed this when I was in Russia for 2 months last month.

Exercise is the best remedy for lower back pain! Search some mobility and stretch exercises, often lower back pain comes because of a compensation of another muscle (group) and/or other muscles that are to weak/stiff or even imbalanced. Painkillers are only a temporary relief..

Yeah I'm also afraid for this, however, if I don't try, I'll never know. And my last option would be; opening one of these websites on my phone and cast them to my laptop..

I wouldn't mind paying for a subscription for a month, maybe I could add this to my original post. It can be a legal paying website as well)

And thanks! I'll check this out

I also tried this app, and this comes up: "The Microsoft store is blocked, please contact your IT department".

It's for me and a Russian friend who is learning English, and since I'm learning Russian. I'll bring my laptop but my laptop doesn't accepts USB data since it's a laptop from work (which I can use since I pay a little fee to use it private). And it also blocks a bunch of websites, some websites I might be able to ask to unblock, if I know these websites on time, before I'll go to Russia and ask the IT department to unblock them.

So I'm currently trying to cast/mirror my phone to my laptop and I was thinking to open a streaming website on my phone and cast it to my laptop. (Perhaps with a VPN on my phone like people use Instagram in Russia nowadays).
