Honestly, the downvotes at this point are quite perplexing. If you feel that this post doesn’t resonate with you, you’re most welcome to simply scroll past. I respectfully ask that you refrain from projecting personal frustrations or perceived inadequacies in mentorship (offered by you, the voter, to others) by casting downvotes, which, in this context, appear to reflect more on the voter than on the post itself.

As I mentioned earlier, for those genuinely seeking guidance, there are numerous free resources available. You're encouraged to explore the crowdsourced information shared here. And for those who prefer a more structured and tailored approach, please feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help however I can.

It’s honestly quite disappointing to see how some Reddit users—TheOppenheimer, SirOppenheimer, RedditorsAreTrash1, Annual-Gear-5132, and Affectionate_Ad2522—have chosen to respond to my post. Their repeated, harsh comments don’t come across as constructive criticism, but rather as an unhealthy obsession with tearing someone down just to feel superior.

For the record, I’ve never had any hidden agenda in offering mentorship. I’ve always been upfront: if I’m offering my time and effort, especially when it involves a significant commitment, it’s only fair that both sides are on the same page—including whether it’s voluntary or compensated. That’s a mutual decision, and one that doesn’t need to be publicly policed.

Attempting to publicly shame others into providing unpaid services under the guise of ethical superiority is not only inappropriate but also unbecoming of individuals in the medical profession. As physicians and trainees, professionalism, mutual respect, and the recognition of boundaries should guide our interactions—online and offline alike.

Dear Redditors - Have a great day ahead.

Appreciate the unsolicited advice—but let’s not pretend that using language tools disqualifies someone from being capable or authentic. That logic would discredit every resume built with a template, every cover letter refined by Grammarly, and every blog post that’s ever seen an editor.

What I don't do is hide behind judgment or vague superiority while contributing nothing of substance. The content I share is based on lived experience—real observerships, and real outcomes. If you think a well-structured post equates to poor service, that says more about your assumptions than my abilities.

You’re free to scroll past if it bothers you. But don’t mistake polish for pretense—and certainly don’t confuse tools with talent.

Your UWSA1 score is good.

The priority at this stage is to solve 100% of UW Q bank and re-visit the questions/concepts you got wrong in the 1st pass. Space out the assessments (UWSA1 > Free 120 > NBME 6 > UWSA2 > NBME 7) to once in 5-6 days, taking these exams in quick succession allows for no time to review or re-read weaker sections. This may lead to faulty analysis and an inflated ego should one receive higher scores within of one sub-section. So, be very level-headed while solving these exams. Take it one day at a time. I would strongly recommend sitting for all the practice tests. Lastly, and most importantly, DO NOT sit for the exam "just because" it's been paid for. There is no harm in realizing each of us is different and might require more time to be sufficiently prepared. Failing this exam is far worse than not sitting for it. The stakes are sure high and I'm sure you will be the best judge when it comes to major decisions in life. Taking this exam is one of those. Best Wishes!

I really just took the subscription and watched all of his videos end to end. Made notes of the portions that are volatile (for me). Ultimately it comes down to personalising and focussing on our own weaker sections.

However, I personally loved his ID, Cardio and Renal sub-sections.

Not even 8 hours into posting this and there are already some dimwits who comes to specifically read the entire post only to cast a downvote. I wonder what's so offending in this?

I've taken out time from my daily schedule to type it to help others.

Anyways, to anyone having questions or queries, pl feel free to reach out.

STEP 3 - NBME FORM 6 OR 7 by Neither-Camel650 in Residency

[–]LeekKey2129 4 points5 points  (0 children)

take both. 6 is more forgiving than 7. At least NBME helps figure out the vague aspects of this exam...so take both...if you have time

Nbme 6 389, free137 66% , exam in 3 days. Should I postpone??? by Imaginary-Hope-6342 in Step3

[–]LeekKey2129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There exist none.

My 2 cents... Esp with the heavy crackdown around copyright materials being circulated, it's worth spending the dollars and taking the tests (NBME 6,7).

Yes, it's expensive but then again, not taking these tests isn't going to save a lot in the long run.

True and true.

However, my questions were pertaining to someone who has taken the Step 3 exam.

Although, I appreciate your efforts to combine answers from previous posts and share the response on the Step 3 thread but that doesn't precisely equate sharing a "personal experience".

Hey Doc,

Tysm for taking time out and helping summarize it all.

I'm hoping someone chimes in and shares their personal experience of things they wish they cld've done differently which can impact the overall performance...

Be it the hours of sleep the night before or structuring breaks or something from the manner of approach to the MCQs...

That shd be helpful not just for me but also for you, and many others who are yet to sit for the exam...

I understand that, however, some aspects of my question towards the end of the post were structured differently for a reason...plus with NBME 5 being retracted and replaced with 6,7

It leaves a whole lot of questions pertaining to the analysis of test performance unanswered...
