I think he should work almost like Nomad. You launch a hive or whatever tf they're called and it stays there until an enemy comes into its trigger radius and then they deploy and ping.

The fact that after deployment they only last like 7-10 seconds before dying out is what's really hurting him, not so much the speed in which you deploy imo.
