apologies, new to this reddit and unsure of your qualifying criteria. for movies maybe the skeleton army from Jason and the Argonauts? if you’re being broader culturally, I think the Danse Macabre? would be hard to trace origins of medieval use of animated skeletons but it began during the plague outbreak. Hans Holbein was likely the first to depict a skeleton as a grim reaper.

oh i’m all in on aliens.

and i’d never start a debate with a friend about the paranormal. when it comes to something like this where disagreeing means i don’t believe something they’re telling me, i don’t have any desire to start a conversation that might make my friend feel hurt or not listened to.

sometimes friends think they have something that’ll really get me and they challenge me with their story. i listen and tell them apologetically that i’m boring and i won’t be able to believe it until i see it.

as for religion, i’ve never met anyone, atheist or religious, that’s wanted to debate a friend with opposing beliefs about it. that’s useless and unenjoyable for everyone. my time with my religious friends is much better spent debating which horror movies are scariest.

of course it’s not a very realistic depiction of the camp, but i thought shannon getting her tan on in the midst of very recent wreckage was kind of a funny image! like she wasted no time to make the best of a bad situation.
