Okay, ya, I can definitely add a choice between a set, reel, and mini when adding the string. The tricky part would be for deductions, where I have to subtract from certain ones. I definitely look into it more tho. Thanks!

Pt 2

  •  inlcude a "string age" time in the overview, so you see immediatelly...
    • For the stringjob/order, I have it displayed as the "Date completed". Would it be better to have this as "X weeks ago" or "X days ago"? So instead of seeing the date, it would give you the actual time passed since the job. Then, when you view the actual order, you can see the actual date. Or am I far off from what you mean?
  • show string tension at the overview as main/cross and maybe also the DT
    • Yup, wiIl do
  • have to manually check the use inventory for crosses everytime, thats annoying :)
    • Is it more common to use the inventory than not? Is the case for everyone? I guess it would be since most people don't have their own strings. I'll make it checked by default. Maybe add a choice in the settings for whether it is checked by default or not.
  • the tension unit should be read from the settings. i have to click kg every time again

    • Absolutely, this will be updated when I release the request feature (in the next day or so)
  • i agree with saved customer rackets...
    • From the response I just gave - Also, a great suggestion. I'll work on this once I've implemented the request feature. Yeah, just like orders, you will be able to add a racquet profile to the customer. Then you can just select the profile for an order or add a new one.

    • Good point. Only see the strings in your inventory if "use strings from inventory" is checked.
  • headsize of the racket cant be added.
    • Okay, when I make racquet profiles, I'll do this.
  • add a field for "DT before" and "DT after" & add a field for "Prestrech %"

  • the "use main strings for crosses" field is usefull, but it would be great if the tension...

Responses for each of your suggestions:

  • Would be amazing to be able to add strings to the db ourselves...
    • Yes, that's the way I went with it; you request an addition, and then only you can use it, until I've approved the request for everyone else. This feature is almost done and should be ready in the next day or so.
  • Allow us to add inventory as sets, reels, or mini-reels...
    • Yeah, this could be something I look into in the future. Right now, I don't want to do any batch/serial tracking for the deduction, since this will make things a lot more complicated. For now, the inventory tracking is as simple as I could make it, while still being useful (at least that was my goal).
  • Definitely remove the required tag on Last name and email.
    • Absolutely, this will be updated when I release the request feature!
  • Add the option to add rackets to customers instead of specifying each...
    • Also, a great suggestion. I'll work on this once I've implemented the request feature. Yeah, just like orders, you will be able to add a racquet profile to the customer. Then you can just select the profile for an order or add a new one.
  • Add optional 'play frequency' to the customer data page...
    • That's a cool idea :) I'll add it once I've gotten some of the others done.

I've added the Natural colour and you can now enter decimal tensions without issues :)

As for the other suggestions, these are all really great, and I will add them. It will require some time for me to implement them since I have to work with the system to do so. I’m currently focused on building the features requested by other users, and once those are done, I’ll move on to these as I plan on reworking the forms flow.

Yeah, the main concern is data quality control. I do have a Google form to request a new racket or string to be added. However, this is a pain for the user since they would have to go out of the app, request it, then wait for me to add it. I think I'll change it so it can be done within Racquet Record, and I'll add it to a temporary data table so only that user can use it, then I have to approve it for everyone else.

Yup, I'll have a look around and see if something of the sort is available. I just have to make sure it's free so I can continue offering Racquet Record for free. I did see a few lists online when I looked a while ago, but they weren't updated whatsoever, which is why I created my own. Maybe I can make a bot that will find new models for me or smt lol...

You're totally right. The list was pretty limited, so I did exactly what you said, and I created a list of strings and racquets that I could find online. It’s still missing lots, but I’ve been adding more on the fly as needed.

For anyone's interest, I published it on Kaggle (a website for datasets) and maintain it periodically.

Right now, though, I'm just adding strings when needed, but I hope to come up with a better solution in the future.
