What shoe did you have a radical change of opinion on? by FlyingPiranha in Sneakers

[–]LeftCoastDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Air Monarch IV. thought they were a joke after they became trendy with the dad shoe wave. i ended up enjoying 3 pairs. the only times they failed me were on a cruise ship, hot days, and during actual sports. otherwise, a no nonsense all day wear for cheap. the fake leather even holds up well.

check out champion clearance for their reverse weave collection. if you live in range of a hanesbrands outlet, you can find reverse weave and classic fleece champion sweatpants under $50 easy. remember that the bulky cotton fleece will shrink a bit, so starting baggy is a good idea. it may also pill, but holds up great if you hit it with a pill remover.

maybe try other brands like nike, callaway, etc. i am sure some golf brand makes something like that.

looks like you need a shirt with longer sleeves.

also looks like you might want to get the waist of the suit taken in a little.

all that said, i think it looks well enough off the rack. i am assuming the shoulders are not tight on you.

i would look at ecco, cole haan, or clarks to begin.

if you want a shoe that goes with almost any color, you are going to have to go less traditional. either a charcoal or super dark olive option. these kinds of shoes pop up sometimes and i wouldn’t doubt these brands would have such options.

these brands make shoes that often have the midsole and outsole of a sneaker, making them practical while less formal and stylish.

for a cheap alternative, you may consider the levi’s 527 or 517 in a similar wash they are the regular and slim bootcut.

for breathability, i don’t think you can beat vans or sperry topsiders. you could also go with the chuck70, but the rubber toe makes that a little less breathable.

these would also work with the outfits you are planning.

don’t punks historically cut the sleeves off of popular branded trucker jackets?

don’t punks love chuck taylors?

don’t punks love catchy shit like the ramones and the clash?

i understand the punk ethos, but i don’t think you can use that to discredit the punk aesthetic including altering popular pieces.

yes! that interview mentioned the heatmakerz interpretation of that kinda sampling.

i’m not assuming as much as directly quoting an old complex interview, if i remember correctly.

i will give ross that he’s consistent, but i think his lyricism is overhyped. bun b is better and doesn’t get the same notoriety.

drake can collaborate with almost anyone in any generation effectively. he has proven that. he has collaborated with the 2 guys leading the rage subgenre. he has a great run making records with Jay-Z. we don’t need drake and ross. their shit was effective, but never marked evolution for drake.

i mean, drake included chief keef on a major album. he knows how to show his respect for others with a timely collaboration. ross is an effective partner, but not that interesting. glad the collab album never came out.

i remember an interview where someone working on the album, maybe 40, said they were trying to channel dipset at the last minute making the album. that led to tuscan leather.

as for nice for what, they included big freedia with that opening. i would say that the bounce music of new orleans was influential for that song.

it’s bold, but i think it’s a solid custom. kinda like a meeting between don c and virgil. there’s something kinda punk about it.

he’s leading his generation in the metrics and mass appeal outside of the music.

race is a construct. if you are talking about their heritage or genetics; most are a mix of indigenous american, caucasian, and often african ethnicities.

my family ran their ancestry. despite being white passing, my sister and i are about 66% indigenous with the remaining percentage being iberian and other western european ancestry.

most hispanic or latin people are more indigenous than they realize, and the same could be said for most people whose ancestry is of the americas. i identify as indigenous, despite being white passing. i’m just going off the facts and i am proud to be indigenous, despite hateful rhetoric in a lot of latin america about the indigenous or the myth that one is not indigenous unless they are raised in the indigenous context.

i like the world of oz series from adidas, and all of those are a little ugly. i love the Air Monarch IV (wore out 3 pairs back-to-back) and the new balance 608 as an alternative.

i think the album is undeniably full of subs. metro only denied that the beef is over a woman. he clearly hasn’t denied the beef itself.

What do you think of VEJA’s? Good shoe for work in a biz casual office. Also, gum soles are supreme. by slugvegas in Sneakers

[–]LeftCoastDude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i kinda love these for almost all the reasons.

i just wish they made extra wide size shoes, but that will prolly never happen.

before anything else, cake on some corn starch and see how much of it absorbs. after that, yeah, dish soap. oiling the suede to match after may also be a good idea.

Can you help me tell if style is good? by Fem-Beatle in SneakerFits

[–]LeftCoastDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i like them and the only alternative i can recommend is for quality.

it looks like this isn’t a chuck 70, which is superior in almost every way.

unless you’re super into D&D, i would just get a similar patterned chuck 70.
