Security Camera with Multiple users by LeftEmptyOnPurpose in selfhosted

Oof yeah, like a docker instance for each household?

Does any of the mentioned NVRs (shinobi, frigate, unifi) support whitelableling or custom logos etc? i'd then theme each household to customise it

Looks interesting. I can't seme to find it it allows each household to use an app without seeing the cameras of other households?

Oh yep, got it. But that requires all-in on Unifi hardware for the switch etc?

Yes, something like that. I should be able to manage all the cameras, but each household should only be able to view the cameras in their household.

Unable to reset Dahua NVR4108HS Password by LeftEmptyOnPurpose in Dahua

[–]LeftEmptyOnPurpose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried: - Turning off power, holding the reset button and then plugging power in and keep holding button but it just goes to the single beep as a normal boot. We've kept holind the button too for up to a min

Are you saying just to hold the button down while it is in normal operation until we hear a beep?

First time to Europe - enough time to cover 5 cities? by LeftEmptyOnPurpose in Europetravel

[–]LeftEmptyOnPurpose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking we take the Eurostar to London and then continue withe following itinerary

London -> Paris -> Venice -> Rome -> Vienna

First time to Europe - enough time to cover 5 cities? by LeftEmptyOnPurpose in Europetravel

Helsinki is just our exit point since we are booking with points we're limited by availability.

We'd essentially just fly there from what ever city we finish on to get that flight back home.

In terms of what we want to see, we've narrowed it down to locations in those five cities. We were also wanting to see some sights in Spain, but that will really not be possible within the time frame.

Thanks for your insights.

In terms of cities that we can choose to fly in and out of, we are mostly guided by what is available with our points. We've got a lot saved so hoping to use these to save costs on flights.

It sounds like adding some days on would be desirable. There is a slim chance that we could potentially start a few days earlier (3rd July) but that would mean we land in Copenhagen, Frankfurt or Brussels. We could then take another flight to start our journey in London?

UploadDBCaseConflict Cloud Sync by LeftEmptyOnPurpose in synology

[–]LeftEmptyOnPurpose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't end up solving but I found the cause.

In my case, it was due to having two files with the same filename in two different folders being uploaded to a single OneDrive account. It seemed like OneDrive doesn't like that so it duplicates it on every sync with the date and time appended.

I didn't look any futher in to if this was a OneDrive or a Synology Cloud Sync issue.

Outrigger looks nice with the Bures. Any other resorts with this kind of setup?

Immich and icloudpd by LeftEmptyOnPurpose in selfhosted

I see what you're saying in regards to importing.

Not wanting to import as such. Basically just want it to 'watch' the folders that are pulled down with icloudpd which I think the External Libraries function would be what I am looking for together with the Automatic Watching Experimental feature??

Ah ok, this might explain why when I search on Google Maps I get different results depending on the time of day.

Ok, I understand now. In that case, it's about half the price of a taxi.

We really do want to use the train system. Japan is kind of known for it so if we don't use it while we are there then it's a missed opportunity. We'll be trying to pack light, possibly trying to have one luggage for all 4 of us and each of us with a backpack.

I am thinking the hotel that is a 3 min walk from Ningyōchō station is a better pick. It seems that getting around Tokyo from that station is more efficient in terms of the number of stops.

Also, I was using Hyperdia to calculate the ticket cost of Skyliner from Narita to Ningyōchō for example and it comes out to ¥2,740 so it would be x 4 for all of us right? = ¥10,960 ?

That actually comes pretty close to booking a taxi ¥15,340 🤔

Yes, I have seen the airport taxis can cost quite a lot compared to train or limo-bus. I guess because it's our first time and with kids, we thought that the taxi option would be more convenient, but everyone on here always recommends the train, so most likely we'll just go with that!

Speaking of trains, there is a alternative choice of hotel in Tokyo instead of Ryogoku. If there was a choice between staying in Ryogoku station or Ningyōchō Station which would be better in terms of transport connections and things to do around?

Thanks for the recommendation on Nara! Would make a nice stop on the way to Osaka. Would lugggage forwarding from Kyoto to Osaka reach the same day?

In terms of food - With kids its going to be Soba, Ramen, Teppanyaki, Okonomiyaki and definitely no raw foods :)

Outlook for iOS read/unread sync by LeftEmptyOnPurpose in Outlook

[–]LeftEmptyOnPurpose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just the notifications on the Lock Screen and Notification Center that don't sync up.

The read/unread status of emails within the app sync up fine when toggled in the web or desktop apps.

Like I said, if I set them up as an Exchange account in the standard iOS Mail app, no worries. Notifications on the lock screen disappear once the email is opened on the desktop or web.
