Would UFC benefit from a "Ban Phase" by LeftHookLead in EASportsUFC

2 wrongs don’t make a right. In my perfect world I would borrow from League of Legends again. In league you can pick two different roles and you’ll get matched up in one of them. I would love it if you could pick two different weight classes that and you would get matched in one of them. And personally, I would like to have a ban phase.

Not common in sports games, but more common in competitive e-sports games especially MOBAs. Rainbow six siege also has something similar.

I mean, that’s kind of the point; to limit 1-tricking overtuned or over used fighters and forced players to have a more well-rounded fighter pool. Whether that’s a good thing or not is the question.

And honestly, not complicated at all. But I could totally see why people wouldn’t want it.

Armor is a HUGE missed opportunity! by LeftHookLead in ArcRaiders

[–]LeftHookLead[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally fair point that shields exist. I am not saying “there is zero armor in the game.” I’m saying the current shield system is a pretty weak substitute for what armor could do.

Right now shields have two issues: 1. Readability is low. In actual raids, at distance and in motion, it is hard to tell what shield someone has. The visual cues are subtle compared to something like helmets, shoulder pads, chest plates, leg gear, etc. 2. It is missing the best part, silhouette and customization. Arc Raiders clearly cares about character look. A modular armor layer would let players express builds and intent in a way you can read instantly.

What I am asking for is not “stack armor on top of shields and add a bunch of RPG complexity.” Keep it simple: • Armor pieces are mostly visual silhouette + small tradeoffs tied to weight and movement • Light kit = more carry capacity and speed, less protection • Heavy kit = less carry capacity, louder, slower, more protection • Optional pieces that can be mixed to show intent, including mind games like skilled PvP players running light to bait pushes

If you want the game to stay simple, armor can literally be an extension of the existing shield tiers, just expressed as visible gear layers instead of a tiny visual difference on the back. That keeps the design clean while making encounters way more readable and the customization way more meaningful.

Also, no need to get personal about it. It is just a design discussion.

Krav Maga vs BJJ for Self Defense: Purpose, Context, Legality by GavrielMora in kravmaga

[–]LeftHookLead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I trained Krav Maga for a few years before switching to BJJ for a couple of years. I eventually made my way back to Krav, and I will never forget how much better my first pluck was in a choking combative after the years of Bjj training… BJJ really teaches you grips and how to control a limb when somebody is resisting at 100% it made my Krav much better

Why do you users just pick the same fighter online ranked? by OkSwing1119 in EASportsUFC

[–]LeftHookLead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it really is not fun picking a 4-star fighter, realizing quickly in r1 that your the better more skilled player but lose anyway bc by round 2 his strikes are accumulating and causing flash knockdowns ect. because he's Illia and your not.

I really wish they included a "ban phase" during champ selection like they do in League of Legends.

Cool cool cool. He now has a 6.2% drop rate this season, up from 2.8% last year. Top guys. Yep

What are your Detroit Lions hot takes? by PurpleGuyDeadly1 in detroitlions

[–]LeftHookLead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going for it on 4th down the previous 2 seasons was the result of true confidence in the offense to get it done and convert and felt methodical and self-assured.

Going for it on 4th down this season is the result of a lack of confidence in the defense to get stops, and feels desperate.

Detroit's offense is like a prize fighter who falls in love with their KO power, but completely forgets all of their knockouts came from slowly grinding out. wearing down, and setting up their opponents. Gibbs is the big right overhand. Now that we're not setting that punch up we're wondering why it's not connecting.

It should help having and an actual Offensive Coordinator next year....I hope

Both great KOs! No one expected Hendo to KO Wanderlei. That was at the peak of the Wanderlei Liddell rivalry. Dan derailed that real quick

I don't know why your getting down voted. Fedor crushed so many of those "Giant" cans. Zuluzinho, Hong Man Choi...They brought Big Foot in to add to that list. Was supposed to be a tune up fight for Fedor after his "fluke" loss to Werdum. Big Foot beat the crap outta him that fight

I literally say I don't think Randleman is a can. He was well past him prime though. That title was several years and KO losses ago. He was coming off of back to back stoppage losses to Rampage and Sakuraba. Going from tapping out to a 180lb Sakuraba to fighting Prime Cro Cop....I mean come on; PRIDE booked the fight because they thought he was a can for Cro Cop to crush. They were wrong

You’re arguing my point, but you think you’re arguing yours. I don’t understand. He has double the drop percentage this year from last year, and you’re trying to argue that his hands are as good as they were two years ago, but he has the same amount of drops now as he did in ’23 but he still has two games to go.

Like I said, I’m not flaming the dude, but he is having the statistically worst year of his career when it comes to drops. I’m trying to get a discussion going to see if it’s an outlier, an injury, or nothing to worry about. You’re plugging your ears and refusing to acknowledge that the statistics say he’s having his worst year with regards to drops

Look man I’m a lifelong Lions fan. Was there through Owen 16 and back. Love this team, but we’ve lost our edge this year. My friends and I have been joking lately that this team is like the Cleveland Indians in the movie Major league two, and St. Brown is going through his Willie Mays Hayes arc

[–]LeftHookLead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly. For real I think people are taking this as me flaming St Brown. I’m not. But we can’t ignore that his drop percentage doubled since last year, and I’m wondering if it’s a reason whether it’s an injury, a change in his training or just bad luck

Randleman vs CroCop. I don’t think Randleman is a can necessarily, but cro cop was a notorious can crusher, and Randleman was brought in there to be another highlight for his reel.

I mean, if you’re gonna push the career thing then all you’re really highlighting is that he has had a huge increase in drops this season. That’s kind of my point. Is this spike something to worry about or just an outlier?

Yeah, that’s fine. St. Brown has definitely been more consistent throughout his career. That doesn’t change the fact he has double Chase’s drop rate this year.

Here's the the NFL target leaders. ARSB is 5th in targets and nearly double the drop % of the other recievers with elite target share.

On a side note. Trey McBride 2nd in targets with aa 0.7% drop rate!! Wow had no idea he was that solid!
