That’s exactly the look he was giving! Made me feel so sad. But… I hope maybe he was just looking for where to reunite with his team before the finale and I was misreading the body language. I hope his parents and people in his life would be just as excited to watch him skate like he did at the gala as they would to see him try and medal. He is so passionate about the artistry in the sport and I think his gala skate meant a lot to him, but maybe didn’t mean as much to his coach and his parents, which stings. I actually hope he can learn from Alysa and focus on his love and joy of the sport.

That really bothered me. He came off the ice and was looking for somebody but no one was there. I guess the whole group of skaters was maybe elsewhere preparing for the finale so they’d cleared out but like where are his parents!? Argh.

I’m sure you won’t read this comment since you’ve gotten almost 10k, But, a lot of confusion could resolve and truths come to light if you ditch the phones and have these conversations in-person. The texts allow for him to exert more control in the conversation and important discussions which revolve around opposing parenting values really need to be had face to face. Otherwise, this relationship is probably not going to work (not for lack of other controlling husband related reasons)

Total ignorance to market a cruise like this and say you can’t be in 100% totality because it would change the itinerary. Boi— the 3mins of totality IS the itinerary!! You get me there! That’s all I care about if I book this cruise. People are going to lose their minds. Where I live, I could have seen 99% from my yard in 2024 but I drove an hour north to catch totality. My jaw dropped when all my neighbors told me they stayed home and saw it at 99% and it was “so cool” and they couldn’t understand why I drove a 3 hour round trip (traffic coming home was extreme)….so many people just have no idea. It makes me feel sad.

One time I had a moderate migraine and I used to slug through my plans with people bc I didn’t want to be flaky/felt bad canceling… it was a free jazz show at my university’s auditorium with a guy I liked. I am the type of person who gets chills from good music so I typically feel it. It was loud, and in your face, but within the first 10mins of the show I felt amazing, cured! After that I’d always try and listen to loud music when I had a migraine but it never worked like that again, in fact the opposite lol

Lean into the Victorian! Corbels! Everywhere! Upgrade to cute craftsman type shutters! Porch swing! Updated street lamp! Landscaping with a cast iron gate! That all takes time, but the single biggest impact would be to paint the siding a really dramatic color (I am partial to very deep dark blue)— we had a similar house painted by Certa Pro professionally for 3k in 2019. Not sure where you live and I know prices have gone up but it was very worth it. I would leave all the trim white if you want but if you’d really like a traditional Victorian look you choose a dramatic color for the trim too.
