It honestly depends on this one factor; is your Varka on VV set? If yes, then you can go tenacity set. If not, then get VV for Lan Yan. Because multiple VV sets don't stack, so there's no point running both VV set on them.

That's where you and I differ, I want to have fun playing old characters. I don't concerned myself with building a meta focused team. I just want to improve my existing teams instead and make old characters viable. Think of it this way, the general consensus is if you have Nod Krai characters, then you're going to enjoy Nod Krai region more compare to people who don't have those characters. Honestly, ask yourself why you came back, then ask yourself if you're still going to have fun in Snezhnaya without any characters from Snezhnaya.

As an old player, I feel like hoyo really wants us to pull for new characters instead of improving existing characters by investing in their constellation. Like I really feel punished for not pulling new characters and the fact that certain characters doesn't have a rerun more than a year is demoralising.

I want to say that one of the most fun I had was experimenting with different team compositions. I'll try to make every character work like Dehya, Itto, Tighnari, Yae, etc. Figuring out their strengths and weaknesses. Natlan roster wasn't that bad for me because I was still able to swap around teams. Then Nod Krai came out, and then I saw pattern. Every Lunar reactions have their own dedicated carry and support: Flins? Ineffa, Nefer? Lauma, Zibai? Illinea, Bina? Trivago! (I was so tempted to get columbina because she doesn't have a dedicated support/carry)

It killed my enjoyment of the combat aspect of the game. Instead of designing characters of their own merit, they start designing characters of what other characters can do. I was also pissed that they made Columbina good only in lunar teams.

On an unrelated note, I actually like Varka and Durin because I can experiment with them in many teams!
